    The Dutch closed seven prisons last year (from lack of crime) while California opened six. Personally I love Dutch logic of decriminalizing things that shouldn't be crimes in the first place, too bad most nations don't agree.

    This whole "working Christmas Eve and spending time with three different families in three very different parts of the metroplex" thing is for the birds. Next year, we're staying home. If people want to see us around Christmas they're more than welcome to come over for dinner or drinks. We try to make all of our families happy (and check in on cousins' cats to be nice) and end up stressed and in the car all weekend. Fuck that noise. Never again.

    Well shit. My home county in MS got hit by a tornado...reporting widespread damage. A 7 year old was killed in the neighboring county.

    EDIT: They just reported 2 dead in my county.

    I stopped by the neighbor's house tonight on the way home. He provided the answer to some events that occurred last Thursday night and Friday morning.

    Booze was the answer. Specifically, we drank a bottle of Jameson's.

    I was unaware of this until this evening. But it explains a lot.
