    Why not both?

Looking back, I cannot believe that Firefly has been done for 13, almost 14 years. WTF.

In looking her up - because I'm shocked she's still alive - I learned that Paris Hilton is her great-grand-niece. How fitting.

God damn - Greg Lake. Not so lucky after all, I guess.

    http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/greg-lake-emerson-lake-palmer-co-founder-dead-at-69-w454546

I've been a big prog fan for a good chunk of my life, so it's hard not to have a fondness for Emerson, Lake and Palmer (and King Crimson, short though his stint was there)

Here's one of my favorite's. They knew how to jam and did not care how pretentious or ostentatious their displays were. That may have lead to prog's demise (in some respects) but it made for some great highs.

    Damn.

Honestly, I couldn't give less of a shit about movie stars or some pop culture icon dying, but Glenn was a true fucking hero.

This genuinely makes me sad. But what does make me happy are people like Elon Musk and their commitment to space exploration.

John Glenn was the shit. He convinced them to let him go back to space in his seventies just to see what would happen if you sent an old dude to space.

That right there, that says everything. I know some people afraid to leave their home state, let alone going into space as an old guy to see what happens. Amazing.

Alan Thicke. I guess 2016 is moving into the sitcom phase of killing people off.

Jesus, that was sudden. He seemed in such good health last time I saw him. I have a photograph with him when I was a kid, I'll see if I can dig it up.

    Such a nice guy.

Here we are. It was a charity hockey game we were in together (which is what he was at when he died). Gordie Howe also autographed that stick who died this year.

    That's him and I, circa 1993:

He tweeted four hours before his death was announced. Sounds like a massive sudden heart attack.

Hockey killed him. That's like, the most Canadian death ever.

I have a feeling his son is really the reason he died.
