What kind of cancer did Bowie have? I've read a few different articles today and they all just state he had an 18 month battle with cancer.
Damn. What a bummer. It's like hearing that Mick or Keith passed. I'm spending the morning listening to him.
Hey WTF man, I have one job around here and it's to post that link. Way to steal a guy's thunder. Now what am I gonna do the rest of the year except bitch about my job in the rant and rave thread?
The voice of voices. He was so fucking great, a real loss to film and theatre. Now we'll never know why he didn't shoot McClane while falling off Nakatomi.
I'm sitting here at my desk at work crying and feeling stupid. Trying to be quiet so I don't have to explain why I am crying over an actor. I remember when I thought he was just a one note creepy bad guy (Nottingham, Gruber) until I saw him as Colonel Brandon in Sense and Sensibility and ever since then I've had a deep appreciation for his range. And I love Snape so much. Can't deal.
There are some people it's just hard to imagine we will never get to see perform again. Alan Rickman is one of them. It's a shame.
Rickman is the death that's getting to me. I have such a love of his work. RIP to the true star of everything he was every in.
Let's not forget Rickman in Galaxy Quest as well, one of the most underrated and fun comedies ever, one that everyone should check out. He was fucking hilarious as the Sherriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Completely off-the-wall and stole the movie with ease. Truly, he was an actor that made otherwise lousy movies watchable. For those who need a laugh in these sad times:
I'm surprised we haven't seen a slacktavist movement demanding we find a cure for cancer. Right. Now! #weNEEDacure
If you really want to end cancer, post a picture of your favorite boobs. We can DO this, people! #weNEEDacure If people really cared, they'd start the #wetTshirtchallenge
He was a classic "holy shit he's that old" kind of celebrity. I would have guessed he was in his late 50s. London losing legends this week.
