Yep, the people "hurr-durr-ing" are the ones who have no idea what they're talking about. They're the same ones that, when handed the rifle and told, "you do it", they'd try, fail, then say, "this is stupid".
Canadian Women's Rugby is off to a good start with a 45-0 win over the Japanese. http://olympics.cbc.ca/news/article/canada-women-rugby-team-blanks-japan-rio.html
Well that hardly seems fair...a bunch of off duty lumberjacks vs. the tiny little Japanese. Did they look like this?
2 deaths so far. http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/two-shot-dead-at-rio-olympic-sites/ar-BBvkcNx?li=AAggNb9
The top 3 cyclists who were in medal contention just crashed a few miles from the finish effectively destroying their chances now. And another crash just now. Evidently, this is a very fast and dangerous section of the course. There is bound to be even more crashes as the rest of the pack get to this point.
I am way more into the stories of the slow motion train wreck that is the Rio facilities and environment than I am into the actual events themselves. Like, I don't much care who wins what, I'm far more interested in how many countries are going to be importing plague from Rio.
http://www.castanet.net/edition/news-story-172563-2016-.htm#172563 "Brazilian military and police say the bullet which flew through the roof of a media tent at the Olympic Equestrian Center was simply "an unfortunate incident." Hahahahahahahahahahaha!
Is there a stream for people without a cable package? NBC is requiring a sign in through a cable provider.
They say he broke it in three places. Well... it's been a hell of a day one. And RIP to the Serbian rowers who capsized... I don't think they kept their mouths closed. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/aug/06/serbia-rowers-sunk-capsize-rio-olympics
Reports are now that they hit an underwater sofa. A submerged couch. Oh please please PLEASE let this be true!
Doesn't matter. South American waterways are filled with horrible death just waiting to happen: "...relates an allegation by local Araguay fisherman, saying that it is dangerous to urinate in the river as the fish "springs out of the water and penetrates into the urethra by ascending the length of the liquid column." Yeah, fuck that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candiru
I've been home sick the past couple of days so I've caught up on a few shows, rewatched some movies, watched as much sports as I can, so now, on to The Olympics. Did anyone else catch the announcer saying that one of the male swimmers was "one of the best breast-strokers" ? No one? Just me? Ok, carry on. May be time for a drink to sweat this cold/flu/Zika out.
Did you go through nbcolympics.com or nbc.com? I'm sure I'm signed in to Dish on my desktop, but I didn't have to sign in to watch on my phone.
