Radio Flyer cop. And his starring vehicle that was C.H.U.D. So fuckin' 80's. He was just a guy who looked like your average middle aged guy, but played all kinds of roles. But he aged well, I had no idea he was older than my dad. Still, 72 is young. I also remember him getting into deep shit once. Wasn't it something nasty like stalking? I'm looking it up.
FYI, just deleted the 5-6 totally off-topic posts. If you need to discuss the philosophy behind the Dead Pool thread, take it to PM.

The only role I really know him in was as Chuck Yeager in The Right Stuff... I really liked him in that movie.
He was the senator Travolta murdered in Swordfish, he was a commanding officer in Black Hawk Down, lots of good supporting roles. But Yaeger was far and away his coolest performance. That closing scene of The Right Stuff is absolute legend.
Great performer, and multi-talented. Right about the time Right Stuff came out, I was studying his play "Fool for Love" in high school. It was later made into a movie, and he won Pulitzer as a playwright.
I was gonna add this as well as provide a link. He was a lot more than just an actor. The career section of his Wikipedia page is worth a read through. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Shepard
A neighbor and all around good guy by my account, with the little time I spent with him. Ara Parseghian, former Notre Dame coach and Marco Island resident, dies at 94 http://www.marconews.com/story/spor...-and-marco-island-resident-dies-94/493631001/
