Not a good day to be a country musician. Don Williams, the Country Music Hall of Fame member responsible for hits such as "Tulsa Time" and "It Must Be Love," died Friday at the age of 78
And Phil Leotardo. He became very tired in the season finale. Speaking of bats, he had another memorable Scorsese role in Casino. People remember THAT scene very well, whether they want to or not.
Damn I just saw this news. Sucks. One of my favorite scenes in Casino is where Scorsese freezes the frame and has Frank's character do a one off voice over line explaining the dangers of the situation. He was great as Phil Leotardo too.
"Go home and get your fucking shine box" has got to be one of the greatest movie lines ever. That scene is perfect. I think my favorite scene in that movie is when Robert De Niro's character decides to kill his crew.
How awesome it is to watch a spacecraft fall into Saturn while in board. That planet simply does not look like it's real. It's awe-inspiring.
When I was a kid nobody had a better mouth/promo ability than him. He was one of few people in that horrible business who had no haters.
It's a bit more likely they will follow in Best Buy's footsteps than close altogether. Also, there's some speculation that they will tap into "nostalgia" markets and get people in the stores with money to spend, and further segment the Baby's R US & TRU brands.
I bet they close down for good within the next 5 years. Seriously, who the fuck goes there unless it's their kid's birthday or Christmas?
There's no need to go there whatsoever. up here we have Masterminds which is fun for kids to visit, has cooler stuff for a lesser price. Toys R Us is for suckers. You're buying an Escalade when a Suburban is twenty grand less. Toys R Us isn't fun to visit. It's laid out like a Bed Bath & Beyond and brimming with Chinese crap.
Jake LaMotta dead at 95 Not that I ever thought about him, but I'll still file this one under, "holy shit I had no idea this guy was still alive." And, shamefully, I admit I've never seen Raging Bull.
A great fighter who was the exact opposite of a great person. But he also fully admitted to it and praised Scorsese for waking him up to it.
