My parents got to see him live back in the day. They said other than Richard Pryor, no one made them laugh harder.
J. Geils found dead in his home at age 71. His blood finally ran cold. http://www.wcvb.com/article/guitarist-known-as-j-geils-found-dead-in-massachusetts-home/9263211
It's strange that the band was named after him, he was the quiet guitar player in the background. Sad. "Freeze Frame" was a favourite of mine when I was young.
Now that's sad. I might have to watch all the E true hollywood stories he did from the Chapelle Show.
All two if them. Buy they are always spectacular. "Prince took us back to the house.....served us pancakes. Pancakes."
Agreed. I wish it didn't get so beaten to death. That skit was more than a "fondly remembered" bit of comedy. It single-handedley made Chappelle and became pop culture folklore, instantly. There is is so much hilarious dialogue that it spills over with it. The next day it aired everyone I knew was talking about it. Charlie Murphy's best line on the show is when he points a gun at Ashy Larry and orders him to "Go upstairs and PUT ON SOME LOTION. Right NOW!!!" at the World Series Of Dice.
Is it me, or does that have "prison hit" written all over it? He gets off on a murder charge because of the testimony of an accomplice who says, "I want to kill him myself," and he is then dead the following week.
Its interesting. Why now all of a sudden? He knew for a while he would be in prison forever. The timing is weird.
