And Cy is one of the best characters on the show, a cunning and sadistic schizo. Boo the wasn't an intimidating guy besides his insanely dead eyes, but MAN could he play frightening and unstable. I'm a big fan of the movie "The Emerald Forest" which he starred. He was just an awesome actor in everything. Dying of "natural causes" at 68 is pretty shitty.
For those that didn't know his daughter played his main hooker,Tess, in Deadwood. In his honor my favorite scene with her and Stephen Tobleroniskikiki: His exclamation of "Your titties!" Might be my favorite line from him over "Watch your first step it's a doooozy" from Groundhog Day. He has an amazing podcast in one of the last Dana Gould Hour podcast. I highly recommend. Godspeed Powers Boothe.
Umm, what the fuck. Please do not tell me we lost the single greatest voice of the 90's. I was listening to "Sunshower" yesterday. This is just......no.
While I'm shocked and moved, my friends are distraught. He was an icon of their generation (I'm way old balls and much more into the Engelbert Humperdink thing).
I listened through Badmotofinger and Superunknown countless times growing up. Celebrity deaths never affect me but this one is rough. Out of the big 4, Eddie Vedder is the only one left. Edit: And he might have committed suicide. Jesus.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Man I skipped a solo show of his last year because I didn't have anyone to go with. I had seriously planned to see Temple of the Dog. I might just go to RHCP alone this Friday just because I never sen them and don't want to miss them like this. Man this fucking sucks.
But Courtney Love is still going. Fuck, I feel terrible now about posting a bad review of his concert a few weeks ago. But at least I did get to see him perform live one time. RIP, Chris.
Soundgarden co-headlined my first concert: lallapalooza with NIN and Rage Against the Machine. I would take losing almost any singer over him. With his insane four-octave range, how often did you hear someone cover Soundgarden or Audioslave? Find a song to match the power of "Outshined" you probably won't. A once-in-a-generation singing talent. Why couldn't it have been Kanye instead?
Agreed. Or Meaghan Trainor, or Miley Cyrus, or Chris Brown or literally anyone but the best vocalist since Freddie Mercury.
Yeah I got to see Stone Temple Pilots once with Scott Weiland. He fucking killed it. Im going to be kicking myself forever that I never saw Soundgarden or Cornell live.
