Because the right quarterback can make your team competitive for the next decade plus. If they really thought he was that guy, then going all in to move up even a spot makes sense. Now, I don't think he is. I like Watson in Houston and I am really intrigued by CJ Beathard the 49ers got. But if Trubisky is that guy.... hell, you could trade all your picks for multiple drafts in a row and it'd still be worth it.
That wasn't my point. My point is why bother if you're not going to put him in. Not that you have to right away, but when your current starter is trash might as well get him going and find out if it was worth it.
I don't get it either. The only times I think sitting a 1st round QB makes sense is when the starter is a quality player like Rodgers behind Favre or Dak behind Romo, or if the line is an absolute disaster. The Bears don't have either situation so who knows what they're doing.
My guess is they are tanking this season to try and get some weapons around Trubiski. White can't stay healthy, kind of reminds me of Rodgers (? Charles I think, hell they had so many bad picks it's hard to remember) except that he actually got in the game just enough to show flashes of talent whereas White can't even do that.
??? Rodgers has been awesome as far as injuries go. He had one year where he missed half the season and other than that hasn't missed a game other than when he was sitting out because the playoff seed was locked up. That's over the course of about 10 seasons. Really couldn't ask for much better. Yeah, it seems so pointless. If you have a great starter - fine, then it makes sense. No reason to wait when the starter is just awful (which Glenn certainly is in my opinion). Do the bears have anybody at this point who is a well respected talent? I don't know how they even won one game so far this year, especially against the steelers. That roster just looks terrible. I expect they'll be in the cellar for a long time.
Welp, another Vikings season down the drain: Vikings running back Dalvin Cook out for the season with a torn ACL.
The worst part is, when not on the field, he's probably one of my favorite players in the league right now, just as a person in general. But as a fan of the Cowboys the past few years... again; FUCK YOU AARON RODGERS!
Seeing as I'm just catching up on the game now, and it's only the 2nd quarter and the Cowboys are up 21-6, I'm guessing things will go well for our heroes in the long run.
The packers are like the aggies. Nothing wrong with the team specifically, it's the fans that drive me up the wall. It's a fucking cult. Rodgers is an amazing QB, but you don't need to teabag him to prove your point. Also, that OBJ injury looked a little painful.
I knew how this game was going to end before it even began because god forbid Dallas have anything even remotely resembling a pass defense.
Hey, look. Jay Cutler is not Miami's biggest problem . . . If your assistant coaches are video'ing themselves snorting coke before meetings, how boring are your meetings? ETA: So, the internet tells me that's not cocaine - too chunky, he's not holding his other nostril, and some other clues that it might be crushed percoset. I don't know. I still think he's pretty fired.
Anyone else find it creepy how he's talking to his girlfriend (wife?) during the video about how doing that makes him miss her and shit? And why do people always snort through a dollar bill? Does that make them feel more cool?
My guess(for I have never done such things and how dare you insinuate otherwise) is that people are much likely to carry dollar bills on them as they go about their day as opposed to walking around with straws?
Aaron Rodgers doing the haters gonna hate stroll en route to another last minute win over the cowboys. I guess it's because he's the only white QB out there that can do it, but people seem to forget that the dude can make some great plays with his legs. Especially when playing against the cowboys.
