Not to add salt to the wound, but... http://www.foxsports.com/watch/the-herd-with-colin-cowherd/video/1074274883513 Edit: I'm not a Cowherd fan, but I think he nails this one.
Rodgers' blinding talent has blanketed all of the flaws. It's like putting LeBron on a team. You can take the worst roster in the NBA, at least in the East, say the Bulls, put LeBron on there and they're instantly talking finals. Same with Rodgers. Put him on the Browns and they're making a run in the playoffs. But Green Bay without Rodgers? Well, they're the Browns.
THIS GAME WILL NEVER END! I don't think I've ever seen so many untimed downs at the end of a game. This is nuts!
Games like this are why I love football. Also, the hits. I could watch Rodgers getting wrecked on replay all day and not get bored.
And Lynch was a fucking moron... what was he thinking? Any guesses as to how long his suspension will be?
He left the bench, sort of AND roughed an opposing player AND pushed, then grabbed the ref (and, then he kind of shoved another ref). Surely the NFL will make an example of him, right? Like $100K fine and at least 2 games? ETA: I watched it again, and I think Kelechi Osemele (#70, offensive line) did EXACTLY the right thing to both defend his QB and not get ejected. He was all up in Peters face, but wouldn't (and didn't) get a flag.
"I left the bench so I would get fined." "I left the bench so I would get fined." "I left the bench so I would get fined." "I left the bench so I would get fined." "I left the bench so I would get fined."
I have never understood this logic. I love football. I love watching good games, like last nights. What I do not love is watching players get their shit busted up to the point they are out of the game for xyz long. I believe it takes away from the potential "great games" because the teams are not playing at 100% and the opposing team is not playing against the best. It makes for mediocre games that aren't near as fun to watch, if at all. Call me a homer all you want but I am not only talking about him, I'm talking about the NFL. I want to watch the best play great and exciting games. As for Lynch, WTF did they expect from him? He is what he is and he makes no bones about that.
I too love watching athletes performing at their best. And for defensive players, performing at their best means destroying the shit out of offensive players. I love watching athletes on both sides of the ball, and when great athletes collide, big hits happen. That Lynch move to me was the epitome of Lynch. I’ve never seen a player do that, yet from him, it doesn’t surprise me one bit.
Exactly what was the logic of sending your most important player up the middle with a quarterback draw when he is playing with a damaged back? If a quarterback is acting like a running back which Carr was, then the defense should be able to treat him like a running back, which they did. I think that Kansas City should not have been penalized for the play and #70 should have been penalized as well as Lynch. Also, proof that if you give a team unlimited tries to get into the end zone, eventually they will.
Really? He had his hands by his side and just got in Peters grill. Do you mean #72, Penn? I could see that either way. You're right about the quarterback when he's a runner. He wasn't sliding. But, Peters teammate had stopped his progress, they were blowing the whistle, and it looked to me like Peters intentionally lowered his head to target Carr, rather than just tackle him. He wasn't penalized for a late hit, but unnecessary roughness, wasn't it?
My apologies, there was a Raider lineman that went after Peters and I thought he got flagged. I am not sure of the number and I could be completely wrong on that whole deal. I will stand by the QB getting thrown to the ground. Carr heard a whistle as well as Peters (or did not hear). Carr could have just folded up and gone the the ground. In my opinion, as long as the runner is fighting for yards he can be hit. I just cannot believe that call is even made considering that Carr still has a fragile back. Rush, you are correct, Peters was hit with unnecessary roughness.
It is so weird to see the jaguars play like a respectable football team. This will take some getting used to. I suppose next time I go to a game I might even some jaguars fans in the jaguars stadium.
Hundley is so worthless. He might as well sit on the ball and try to cram it up his ass. It would be about as effective as whatever the fuck he's doing now. Put anyone else in and give them a shot. Please.
San Francisco is about the best he could hope for in terms of a fan base that would put up with his shit. Even many of them were getting sick of it. In any case, I've pretty well accepted that this season went down the drain with Rodgers. Besides, all this time off will allow Kap to focus on the important things. Like fighting the confederacy... or America... whatever, same thing.
The reason I ask that is I’m genunely curious how much the team owners and management would take that into consideration. WI strikes me as being potentially somewhat intolerant of protests when it comes to their football, so it makes me wonder. I could be totally wrong, of course, so anyone from WI care to chime in? What would you think if GB signed Kap?
