I was born there, and I've lived there fairly recently, and it would be similar to a lot of other places. Like the rest of the upper midwest WI is pretty split in their politics, with people tending to be lower key and less looney/hardcore about their beliefs than the south and the coasts. People are much more reserved about their politics so they don't like big public displays, but they wouldn't be losing their shit the way a place like, say Texas would. Overall, I'm pretty sure more fans than not would disapprove of it, but realistically it wouldn't stop the team from selling out games. That said, I would be pretty surprised if management did something like that. They don't want to invite a dumpster fire into the state just to up their chances of making the playoffs by 15% or whatever margin for this one year. If Vick can find a job and Roethlisberger is still starting it's not impossible though.
Oh, cool. They simulcast the Walking Dead on AMC and NBC tonight, with the version playing in Gillette Stadium.
It means last night was the Walking Dead season premiere, which was airing the same time the Falcons were playing the Patriots like a bunch of zombies. (Also, ironic with the Falcons "rise up" slogan.) It means the Falcons suck and I hope they die a horrible undead death for every game the rest of the season. It means the corpses in Night of the Living Dead had a better chance on Sunday night than Matt Ryan et al.
Ahh... I get it. Now. Finally. I was honestly trying to figure out how they were showing it on the big screen, and was thinking that the NFL has reached a new low for commercialism. I blame the booze and the fire. I didn't see much of the game because the fog was fucking with the streaming. Fog and fire and other non-clear elements are a bitch to compress and stream, and the DAZN feed just wasn't up to the task last night.
Generally speaking the most important factor for any fanbase is winning. Most fans ignore just about any indiscretion as long as the guy is good.
Over all I don't think Hundley did that bad. If we had some, fuck, ANY defense it would be helpful. For fuck sake. They cannot complete a tackle to save their lives. And on short throws ie slants and screens they look fucking lost. I am fucking frustrated with the broke down dline. I do get why they are going to stick with him at QB. I think if McCarthy would have let him throw the ball more rather than going with the ground it would've been a bit better.
Yeah... here you have a team that has been built around the throwing game at the expense of all else, you lose your star QB, so you then try and use your running game... that doesn't exist. What could possibly go wrong? It will be interesting to see how Rodgers does as a QB coach for Hundly... and I'd like to see them try and carry on with a throwing game, if they can. It would be interesting to see just how many throwing plays they have that are Rodgers-specific enough that Hundly just can't pull them off.
Not just the passing game, but a Rodgers led passing game. Rodgers was absolutely carrying the Packers (do the Packers come back against the Bengals and Cowboys without him?) which was exacerbated by all of the injuries elsewhere on the team. There isn't a clear path for Packer success right now, either in the passing or running game. The best they can do right now is try to stop the bleeding as much as possible until the team starts getting healthy again, then try to adjust the offense toward things that Hundley is good at.
Not that bad? Dude is a train wreck. His current passer rating is equal to doing absolutely nothing. If you just threw the ball straight into the ground every play you would get the same passer rating. 4 yards per attempt. 4 picks and 1 td. He fucking sucks. The defense got 2 turnovers and gave up a reasonable amount of points to a top offense, especially considering NO had the ball 37 minutes. The running game was great. 180 yards and 7.5 yards per carry with no passing threat isn't bad at all. It was a very winnable game with a semi-competent QB. It's not just that they lost Rodgers, Hundley really IS that bad. This would be a great plan except for one crucial flaw. There has to be something he is actually good at for it to work.
Well, he has much higher expectations for himself, so it would seem. You got a little ways to go buddy.
Well then I guess that means it's put up or shut up time for McCarthy, since he's made it pretty emphatic that Hundley's his guy.
Lynch is the most entertaining player in the NFL. I hope he never retires. Here he is bulldozing high school kids.
I watched the Ravens beat Miami last night, and holy shit...Flacco looked like he got decapitated. The game itself was boring, it was literally one-sided....Matt Moore might as well have been throwing to the stands.
It was like the QB and WR footage from two games were digitally overlaid. He made so many throws where he expected the receiver to break left and he broke right or vice versa.
This Minnesota-Cleveland game is brutally bad. Two missed extra points. But man do I ever wish there was a game on at 9:30 every Sunday. It makes the day go so much faster.
