Warren Miller died. Shitty. Back in the day I had a friend who was a skier who was on call with Warren to go heli-skiing around Whistler at a moment’s notice. Dude got paid to wait to go skiing. Yeah... he got laid a lot.
He certainly didn’t die young, but within weeks we lost the two most landmark recreational sports filmmakers ever: Bruce Brown (Endless Summer) and Warren Miller. Their films basically changed society and how people live, that’s how skillful they were. They turned sports into cultural phenomenon.
