    Yikes.

I had the distinct pleasure of scaring the fuck out some punk ass kids that were wrecking my store on Saturday. Employees were sure they peed a little. I love yelling at other people’s kids.

I’m a little drunk. Made it through church and family dinner without catching fire. Success.

I was no more surprised at him than I was Weinstein. People were cracking “creep” jokes about Spacey two decades ago. Lester Burnham is possibly my favourite movie character of all time, but it’s hard to even look at him without wanting to shower immedietly afterwards these days.

ExH1 and I got into a huge argument because I called Spacey a creeper. He was absolutely offended.

He did a fantastic job in American Beauty. But there's a difference between playing a role, and being a role.

He gave me the creeps in that, and I couldn't shake it.

I find that I can watch any movie he's done and not tie it to his real-world fucked-up-ed-ness.

I will always love The Usual Suspects, The Shipping News, American Beauty, and House of Cards, regardless of what he's done.

Sure, I think the dude should be black-listed, charged, and pay the price for his bullshit behaviour, but I won't throw away my enjoyment of the work he did before everything came to light.

I’ve come for the content provided. That’s the only way I can admire Polanski’s films.

Ironically, this phrase was commonly said by Weinstein and Spacey when leaving Hollywood parties at the end of the night.

Same. He's an incredible actor, and American Beauty and The Shipping News (highly underrated btw) are two of my favorite movies ever, despite me largely preferring comedies.

I can enjoy a movie regardless of the transgressions of who made it. Doesn't stop me from being reminded about it while I watch the movie. But still, entertainment is entertainment, and art is art. It's why I'm torn about all the stuff going on in the NFL right now with domestic abuse and politics.... at the end of the day, it entertains me. It does what I pay for it to do. So where's the problem?

I think this may be the most stress-free Christmas I've had in a long, long time...

Just no pressure to do "traditional" crap that nobody really liked doing except because it was a tradition.

Mom's feeling a bit guilty for not really doing much (my sister and I have really stepped up this year to do all the cooking, etc), and I think more than anything she doesn't know how to just relax and enjoy herself when she doesn't have anything to do.

I have no kids, my sister has no kids, but one of her best friends has 2 kids going through a fresh parental divorce, so we've been focusing a lot on them to help them get set up in their new house/home, etc. They got a nice PS4 and some games tonight, and were overjoyed.

I'm now enjoying a few beverages and catching up on some YouTube videos.

It's a nice, relaxing night, to say the least.

Regarding The Shipping News, by the way, that movie was the final straw in me changing my major for good. These two video clips do it kinda sorta justice:

Quitting traditional journalism was one of the few times in my life that I have been completely right about something. That was around the time blogs were starting to take off and, since I was fortunate enough to get my feet wet in writing for the physical newspaper (remember those?) I had already seen the writing on the wall. Switched my major to public speaking and kept doing what I enjoyed, which was working in the early-education field.

Can't believe that was more than a decade ago.

I like doing the stuff like stockings and candy and pjs and all - but it’s because I like seeing my kids enjoy it. Now that the older three are pretty much grown, and it’s just the one, and we live 2000 miles from family...fuck it. I take the day slow.

I’m not surprised he’s a creep, I’m surprised anyone would think that kind of reemergence would be a good idea.

This place is amazing, TiB. Because of course we'll talk about Spacey and the holidays inter-mixed.

Merry Christmas, idiots! And , Happy Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Festivus and whatever else may get you to share good times with family and friends. And, good luck with all the crazy and stress that might come with that. Thanks for making another fun and stimulating year here!

I got a light up Rubix cube Bluetooth speaker, and advanced to the Championship in my fantasy football league as part of my haul. I'm having a good holiday!

I mean something like this was probably filmed weeks ago. Was it really made as a response to the new criminal prosecution? I can see it as some sort of in joke him and people around him made in light of the past year+ of his life. Maybe something in the can he released in light of court proceedings?

I listened and was creeped out. My husband chased me around with his phone while it played. Later on we had a friend come by and we watched The Joe Rogan podcast where they listen to the video. He mentioned something about a rights issue, I don't know if it had to do with him playing a character he did not have rights to or Spacey did not know that the video would be released?

This is the sloppiest, most laid-back Christmas ever. I did not get very far on the proofing situation yesterday for the pecan sticky buns so I suspect that we will have Christmas dinner around noon with sticky buns late tonight.
