Looks like he's going to open the season as their #4 starter. I know they've got a lot invested, but I don't know why they wouldn't let him get 2-3 starts in AA extended Spring first. He's pitched 2.2 innings and an intrasquad game. In other news, the Yankees currently have a payroll below the luxury tax penalty for the first time since 2003.
He had one other pitched game that didn't count. Against the Tijuana Toros. It wasn't pretty. At most, give him a short leash. One start to let the fans see him and if he screws that up, send him down to work out his issues.
Roy Halladay did not start well with the Jays. They sent him to AAA and he came back one of the best pitchers of his generation.
Blue Jays end spring training winning 1-0 over the Cardinals. It was played in Montreal, won by a walk-off homer by Vlad Guerrero Jr. you couldn’t end that better. They REALLY want the Expos back there. So do I.
So do we expand or move a team there? I'd say move the Marlins, but that would likely be an economic benefit to the ownership group and those greedy fuckers don't deserve a single cent.
Agreed. The franchise was just about to become a great thing with great players and ......fizzzzzzz. What the fuck.
Well, no. Buuuut, the Braves are on pace to win 162 games this year! Yesss, woooo! Suck it, Philly. Yeah, no. With my buddies, I set the o/u for Braves wins this year at 84.5. I think it'll be 84.
As a dutiful Minnesotan, I didn't watch the Twins play yesterday because I was watching hockey. But from what I've read about yesterday's game the Twins' bullpen is just as shaky as last year. That's my hot take after 1/162.
Welcome to having Fernando Rodney as your "Closer." I couldn't even watch the 9th inning of M's games when he came in because win or lose, it was going to be ugly.
Kind of surprising...Ohtani's first start in Oakland and there area A LOT of empty seats. EDIT: His stuff is nasty, nasty and he was hitting 99-100 on the gun. This is not the same guy that was getting lit up in spring training.
Like most pitchers he was working on new pitches and learning batters. Unfortunately he used that knowledge on my beloved A's today.
Watched the game. Throwing 100, I was impressed for a first start, he looked good. Smoak got 6 RBIs including a grand salami today. I think the Jays could be good, Jesus..... Sanchez is the most deceiving-looking geek to ever throw a 97 mph change-up. Crazy junk, he is awesome.
...and in Mariners news, Nelson Cruz sprained his ankle slipping in the dugout after hitting a HR. On the plus side....King Felix looked really good in his start against the Indians, Edwin Diaz has pitched 2 innings, 0 hits, 0 walks, 6 K's. He did hit two batters in his first appearance though and Micth Haniger still looks like he can hit...5-8 with two HR's to start the season.
