Most of it. The descriptions of Batty's memories in the original script were longer, unwieldy, and didn't exactly roll off the tongue. Hauer approached Ridley Scott shortly before they did the scene with his idea, in which he'd "taken a knife to" the dialogue, and added "...like tears in rain" as his own idea. The scene was the last thing the crew and cast did at the end of a 16+ hour day and the crew, mentally and physically exhausted, were moved to tears by his performance.
Yeah it’s a very haunting, beautiful scene. Of all the movies that tried to convey a robot learning to be human, I don’t think any film did it as well as Blade Runner. The sequel was good, but more on the nose than the first one about it. Ok, my apologies for derailing the thread.
When someone dies IRL, you spend days sharing memories and recounting how that person impacted your life. Reflecting on the lasting power of one of his performances is hardly derailing the thread. It's exactly what the thread is for, imo.
The King of Random, a well known youtuber who did a lot of DIY science project type stuff. Died in a paragliding accident.
Having seen some of his videos, I would have expected him to go out mishandling chemicals or accidentally shooting himself. He had a video where he replaced the bullet in an otherwise unmodified 9mm round with a foam ear plug and fired it at the wall in his living room, which would be a third degree misdemeanor where I live.
Wow, that genuinely sucks. I really liked his content. This is one of my favorites And ever since I've wanted to make my own rope maker.
Jeffrey Epstein https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/10/...tion=click&module=Top Stories&pgtype=Homepage So much for the suicide watch.
My first thought was he bribed guards to look away on the suicide watch and that someone should be in a lot of trouble.
Also “Ulee’s Gold” If you want to see the best performance of his career. I also thank him for making a hot daughter.
I always thought the dude was overrated, famous simply for his counter culture persona and being from a famous family.
Ha... best Reddit comment I've seen: Billionaire David Koch dies after 30-year battle with renewable energy.
Jessi Combs https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a28843412/jessi-combs-killed-in-land-speed-record-crash/ An extremely talented fabricator, race car driver and TV host. I've never seen anything bad said about her.
Fucking hell. Silver lining is she died doing what she loved. Literally doing exactly what she wanted most right up until the lights turned off.
