I can't believe Seattle got Clowney for essentially two LBs, one of which wasn't even going to make the team. If Clowney doesn't sign a long term deal, Seattle will get a 3rd round compensatory pick. Or they could franchise tag him again and trade him for draft picks. To recap, John Schneider went from Frank Clark and like 4 draft picks, to Jadaveon Clowney and 11 draft picks, with the opportunity to gain more. How has he never won Exec of the Year?
I think Seattle really bent the Texans over on that deal, but Seattle's comp pick (if that happens) will be a maximum of a 2021 end-of-round 3rd, so it's 2 years out and a number of slots back, and depends on Clowney signing a pretty big deal after he leaves (i.e. no injuries, no down season). Future picks are always worth less, so Seattle has deferred their pick for a year and could lose 10-20 slots in position. That's not nothing. Also, I seriously doubt that that A) he is willing to play on the franchise tag twice, and B) someone is going to cough up draft picks for a likely holdout candidate getting paid 120% of the highest defensive end contracts - right now, that looks to be about $20 million. So they aren't getting a tag-and-trade out of this.
Houston also would have gotten a 3rd round compensatory pick if Clowney didn't sign a long term deal. So Seattle traded a 3rd round pick to a team set to get a 3rd round pick, and now Seattle is set to get it back if it doesn't work out. And as you said about Barkevious Mingo (his real name), the Seahawks were literally about to cut him but didn't because the Texans wanted him for some reason. The dolphins also traded kiko alonso to the saints, LeSean McCoy signed with the Chiefs for $4M, and the NFL is doing it's best to look like the NBA free agency right now.
Nothing like sitting down to watch the Bears prepare to beat the Packers and reading that the Raiders are gonna suspend AB after he tried to fight their GM. By suspending him right now (before the first game), the raiders can, in theory, can get out from under his guaranteed money and waive him without owing him shit.
The Bears' offense looked like ass tonight. Trubisky looked lost, the offensive line couldn't pass or run block. It's pretty rough when the defense holds Aaron Rogers to 10 points but the team can't take advantage.
Victory is so sweet, even if the game is a snoozefest. I would give my left boob to have Mack on my team. Maybe even a little of the right too.
The point I was making was that it hasn't been proven yet that she actually has boobs. She's been given every opportunity, mind you...
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27559625/raiders-release-brown-tumultuous-tenure So, where does he go next? Yes, he's a diva. But if you're the Seahawks, this dude might be the difference between 9-7 and the fucking Super Bowl. Seahawks? Titans? Jets? 49ers? God help us if he ends up in KC or the Pats.
If he and Gordon keep their shit together, we may see an all time offense in New England. It's 2007 but with a run game.
Brady's 42 and his game has deteriorated. It's not going to get better so we'll see. I still hate it.
Yeah, we hear that every year. Last year he was finished and waited too long to retire. Can’t wait for the Pats to get a comp pick for AB in 2020 also.
