The Packers wins have exceeded their performance all season long, which I think is a product of good schemes and coaching. They got exposed by SF in the regular season, and literally nothing changed, so no...this wasn't a surprise. I will say I am excited for next year when GB has a chance to address the glaring needs, Rodgers gets more time with LaFleur's system, and come right back. It's not like anyone else in that division is going to remarkably improve at QB this offseason. Also, in watching the Chiefs come from behind twice against two of the run-happiest teams in the league (who did it slightly better than SF) and make it look easy....hard to bet on SF at this point.
Oh calm down. I mean congrats and all, your team is in but It's not like we all didn't see the writing on the wall in that game. Fuck, we are lucky to have made it as far as we did, I honestly don't know how we pulled this season out of our ass. I can tell you, if Mahomes continues to run the entire field like he has, you're toast. Yes, your d-line is exceptional but, you have to pin him first and I really don't see that happening. SF was the better team by far and they deserved the win. Good luck.
As happy as I was that Rodgers was unhappy, I almost felt bad for him. Dude can’t win a game by himself. Every time he was off the field, it was points points points. Did it occur to their D that SF might run the ball?
Antonio Brown has just turned himself in to police, who issued a warrant for battery when he threw things — including rocks — at movers after refusing to pay them. he’s clearly sick in the head and I hope he gets the help he clearly needs. This is what cte looks like. It’s also funny to watch from afar.
Actually he was released on a 110k bond and has to wear a nice anklet. He turned himself in earlier. When he showed up to do so, he was wearing a turquoise suit. I bet the suit and new jewelry don't match.
Will Kyle ever learn to keep running the ball when he has the lead late in the game? Glad to see Reid get a SB win, he's a damn good coach.
And that he did. Halftime show thoughts: Shakira not only played the drums, she picked up an electric guitar....meanwhile JLo swang from a pole and brought her kid out for a duet.
XFL starts tomorrow. Any thoughts on if it’s actually going to be entertaining? Think it’ll last more than a season?
Kinda what I'm thinking. People want football 24/7. There's a market there. But if anyone gets good in the XFL, they're going to the NFL next season. Under a best case scenario there's gonna be a constant churn of the very best players and that's gonna make it hard for fans to follow. Best case, they get people who want to skip college and get paid to play before they can get drafted into the NFL. Worst case, their very best players are worse than the practice squad players you never see at the NFL level and the league relies on gimmicks that get old in a hurry. I'll watch it, because it's football. And also a train wreck I can't look away from. But if I were an investor I'd run away from this league as fast as my legs can carry me.
I like the kickoff rule. Should be fun to see how it works. Team 9 is creative. Hoping for lots of scantily clad cheerleader shots. I think like half the starting QBs have NFL playing time. The short season and quick playoffs is a good idea. It's not the NFL and isn't trying to be. I think they are positioned to have enough success the first season that they will be back for a second, but I don't know beyond that.
Just watch the ratings on TV. My feeling is they are going to need a bunch of TV money to survive. Based on the game I am watching, I do not think the gate is going to be enough.
Yeah the product on the field is just not good. I like how they do the transparent replay though, showing what the guy in the booth is looking at and what he's saying. I'm sure the NFL will take some things from them. Probably not their players though.
Totally disagree. They are not going to be NFL level and if you were expecting that, I'm not sure why. It was also their first game of the season. Compare NFL teams' first game of the season to their 5th or 6th. Remember how many penalties get called in the first games? Have you heard the phrase "mid season form"? It comes from a real thing. I like the multi-point options for extra points, the overtime rules, and listening to the coaches. The games aired on ABC and Fox, with seasoned announcers.
maybe I just expected more from the “best of the rest” so to speak. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when they get some breakout stars that the NFL snatches up real quick. How they deal with that and how they replace them and keep it moving. As a fan you clearly can’t get a jersey with a player name. Though those jerseys do look cool as fuck
