John Thompson, a college basketball coaching legend. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-b...georgetown-coach-john-thompson-jr-dies-age-78
Tom Seaver https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29797239/tom-seaver-hall-fame-pitcher-mets-legend-dies-75
A couple fun facts... Seaver was the model for the Ken doll. As in Barbie and Ken. He was also the first Cy Young award winner that didn't win 20 games. In 1973 Ron Bryant won 24 games for the Giants, the NL's only 20 game winner. It was widely assumed Bryant would win by default. Seaver won with his 19 wins.
One of THE greatest pitchers, ever. Who (as in literally anybody) since his career has had more skill as a pitcher? Maddox, I guess. Anybody else?
As if Pedro's five dominant pitches, pinpoint control, and most dominant peak of any pitcher in the history of the game are something to be scoffed at.
Pedro was fantastic. I think he had more raw talent than Maddux or Seaver, though. He was able to use his dominance and just beat a batter. Maddux and Seaver were similar in their "skill," imo. Maddux was a better thinker, crafter, etc. He couldn't just up and decide to throw one by you like Pedro could.
Queen of Thorns devoured the scenery every single time she was on GoT. And she was a legit sex symbol in her prime, rightfully so.
