I was one of his bodyguards at the Leonard fight. He never spoke to me, hell, I don't think he even looked at me. He came across as a very angry little man,
My favourite boxer. Fearless and indestructible. If damage counted for anything in boxing (like it should) he would have never lost a fight. WAR!!!!!!!!!!
The Ring Taxi... can you imagine being a paying passenger in that minivan as she passes GT3's, etc? All while giggling like a crazed maniac.
I’m throwing in Marvel Comics as a late entry for this year. They obviously don’t want to sell physical copies anymore.
I don’t give a shit about this move but haven’t we had enough of the comic book as the center of our entertainment world? It won’t stop as long as the movies make a billion dollars every opening weekend but come on. That cow nose piercing is a nice touch though. Subtle yet telling in that lets you know he’s gay without obvious gay pride flags everywhere.
The comics have always been pulp trash. They put out hundreds of series each year and very few of them are actually any good. They do the gay/black/female versions of popular characters because they're out of ideas, it costs them nothing, and they know that they will get a lot of attention from the parts of the press that obsess over those things. It might even sell better than average from the extra attention, which isn't hard because most of the runs don't sell for shit anyway. I'm more curious about Marvel deciding to bring lady Thor into the MCU considering that: a) The storyline is about Jane Foster taking up Mjolnir and gaining Thor's power b) Mjolnir has been destroyed in the MCU c) In the last Thor movie, they made a big deal about Mjolnir not being the source of Thor's power
Mjolnir wasn’t destroyed. Thor regained it back in time. I find it peculiar that they’re giving a push to such a boring, insignificant character that Natalie Portman phoned in. Her not being in the third movie helped make it far better than the first two put together. Thor teaming with the Guardians was a great idea. This isn’t.
Maybe it's a timeline issue. When Thor went back to 2013, he reclaimed Mjolnir, which Cap used in current time in Endgame. But, then Cap had it on the platform with him when he went back in time to replace the stones. I dunno.
I'm more worried about power-creep in the MCU. They've handled it well so far, but they're definitely straining at the limits. Thor, Dr Strange, Scarlet Witch, and Captain Marvel are all insanely OP, and even Iron Spider and Hulk are well above terrestrial threats at this point.
Then that means they’ll probably bring in the cosmically-powerful villains that are FAR more powerful than them. Namely The Celestials, Dormammu, Mephisto, The Beyonder, and Galactus.
