to be fair, the Red Sox pitching staff (especially E-Rod) is the best way to get your first MLB hit. And RBI. And homer.
I’ve said the same thing about Gary Bettmen for two decades. Why are you in complete control of a sport that you hate? Fuck off and die, already.
Ohtani hit #24 to tie Acuna for the MLB lead. A (Very good) pitcher now leads in HR, that's certainly new and different. Also, Aaron Nola K'd 10 in a row to tie Seaver's mark set in 1970. That's pretty cool too.
Vlad Jr. just hit home run 26. Sucks Toronto has to use their farm club stadium in Buffalo as their home turf:
Yankees-Angels highlights: Dylan Bundy of the Angels throws up on the mound, Ohtani hits another home run and the Yankees lose again. While the former was unexpected the latter two were entirely predictable. The Yanks are playing like crap this year.
They are a team that shouldn’t be out of the playoffs, but they cannot put it together. Many predicted this exact result. Sometimes money can’t buy you happiness.
I am pointedly ignoring the run differential, the number of players that are injured, and the distinct possibility that a bunch of good players will be either traded or gone at the end of the season like Haniger, Kikuchi and Graveman. Still, Jarred Kelenic is raking in AAA and Julio Rodriguez was promoted to AA. I'm ready to be hurt again.
Any Red Sox fan who said they expected the team to be where it is this year so far, would be lying. So naturally, they've all started complaining about the possibility of future losses.
Have any of you been following this Trevor Bauer thing? He’s definitely twisted. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id...b-puts-los-angeles-dodgers-trevor-bauer-leave
He's a unique dude to be sure, but I have a feeling he's not the twisted one in this case. He's making what...$20M a year? Sounds like someone wants a piece of that and was willing to give up a piece. In other news, Ohtani just hit 2 more. 30 HR for the year. The guy is an alien.
it's unlikely the Braves will win the East this year, or make the playoffs as a wild card, but they sure are entertaining. Yesterday, a pitcher hit a walk off single, right after the previous ghost runner scored on a wild pitch, but was called out on replay, which set off a mob celebration that included a player running around with plastic ninja swords, a dude wearing a panda head, the opposing center fielder handing the pitcher the game ball, and getting forced into a conga line by the Braves All-Star centerfielder.
Another Ohtani factoid from the announcers tonight: If he gets a batter in an 0-2 count, they are 1-47 in those AB's with 37 K's.
Shohei Ohtani Isn't Babe Ruth—He's Better A little fact I hadn't realized: He leads the major leagues in home runs and bunt hits. (He is 4-for-4 when bunting for a hit, an unmatched success rate.)
