He's not Acuna, but certainly a solid pick up: Chicago Cubs trade Joc Pederson to Atlanta Braves for 1B prospect Bryce Ball
If he puts up his May numbers, he'll be good. Aaron Judge in Covid protocol . . . and he was escorting Billye Aaron at the All-Star game. Yikes.
I didn't think about that. I do remember reading Henry passed away about a week after getting the vaccine though, so I imagine she probably got vaccinated at the same time as him. I sure hope so.
That's interesting. I know the players live a more bubble life, and I think MLB was going for 85% vax rate, but it seems like for something like escorting an 85 year old woman, they'd have insisted it be a safer thing. Huh. And, I guess that bubble of isolation changes when you're mingling with other teams at the All-star game, too.
Welcome to the league, Cleveland Guardians. ETA: link https://twitter.com/Indians/status/1418565355472101378?s=20
I don't mind it. Are there any other Guardians sports teams? From what I understand, the Guardians of Traffic statues on the bridge are already quite popular and used in imagery around town, so it's something that can be uniquely Cleveland. That's good for the fan base buy-in, which is what they need.
Word is that the Dolan's decided on the Guardians over the Indians since it meant they would only have to spend to change 4 letters on the stadium instead of 6.
Because of the shipping industry that the city is/was famous for, I was confident they would change the name to the Cleveland Steamers. I think it honours the town perfectly in one word.
Fuck's sake. Aluminum bats when? MLB to test electronic device for catchers to give signals to pitchers
Yeah, the Mariners are so feisty and ready to make their playoff push that the walked their best reliever over to the Visitor clubhouse. Fine with me, though, as I have Graveman on my fantasy team.
