If you'd have told me, back in July, that fucking CINCINNATI was going to the Super Bowl, I'd have told you you were nuts. But here we are. One thing about this entire playoff season - every single game has been gold. Running right down to the wire, with competitive teams. Let's go Rams and Bengals, I guess? Also I'm hosting a SB get together. Recipe suggestions are welcome.
If you want to try something local Skyline Chili Dip is the Cincinnati Super Bowl staple. Normally I’d say if you can’t get Skyline chili itself then forget about it but given nowhere outside of Ohio and parts of Florida have that Hormel chili is a good substitute. You really can’t go wrong with any combination of cheese, cream cheese, and meat. https://www.thechunkychef.com/cincinnati-style-chili-cheese-dip/
That was some fantastic football. I can't remember the last time the playoffs were that good. And the poor schmuck at TB12 that hit the hammer on that tweet is cancelled, or maybe even dead.
Whether they were good games might depend on which side you were rooting for. I am a 49er fan and am not very happy with the game or results. At the same time the Rams traded a bunch to get Stafford specifically to lead them to and hopefully win a Super Bowl. It is nice to see one of these gambles actually work.
Well since your Niners beat up my Packers (actually the Packers beat up the Packers but who's counting) naturally I wanted to see them go (still).
Count me as one of those people that were pulling for the Bengals because of Jackson and Brittany. I'd have normally fell in step with my Chiefs fan friends if the Panthers are out. I, literally, do not know a Bengals fan, and it's nice to join your friends, rooting for their team when yours is done for the year, unless it's the cowboys. I got tired of Jackson being a TikTok douchebag and Brittany spraying peasants with champagne from a luxury box.
my wife is rooting for the rams because stafford's wife survived a brain tumor (awww, she does love me!!). I'm pulling for the Bengals because they beat jackson and brittany's relative.
I am a life long Bengals fan. Former season ticket holder. Long time sufferer. I don’t know how to feel right now. I’ve never rooted for anyone that was a winner. Last night my kids yelled at me for not using my inside voice. It was crazy. People in my neighborhood were hooting, hollering and setting off fire works. I’m excited for the future of the franchise even if they lose in the super bowl. I literally only ask that they make it interesting. You don’t have to win, but try to give me some hope on Sunday. Something to talk about on Monday. They’ve blown my expectations away. On to other topics…. Did anyone catch Johnny Manziel going crazy on Twitter last night and talking about how much he hates Cleveland? It was amazing to read through this morning. He must have been super high and or drunk.
The team-building strategy for both of these teams is fascinating. Burrow and Chase turned the entire franchise around in less than 2 years (and God only knows what would have happened if Burrow hadn't gotten injured), after Cincy tanked for the #1 pick. The Rams won't get a first round pick til 2024, and has tried to compile a team of stars, similar to what TB did last year. The Rams have the more talented roster, and the odd benefit of playing at home, but damn if the Bengals don't look like they are destined to walk away with it.
The game being good might hinge on whether the Bengals can scheme up enough protection for Burrow at the line. He’s gotten mauled by several teams this year, and the Rams front seven have some imposing players. If he does have time, though, I expect a shootout in line with some of the other great games this playoff.
Brady officially announced his retirement today. In a lengthy social media post, in which he thanked basically everyone, he didn’t once mention the patriots or their fans. Fucking dick head
He also didn’t say he CAN’T make the commitment necessary to win; he said he WON’T make the commitment necessary to win. I’m not saying he’s willing to come back for the right price - I’m just saying he made sure that he didn’t say he wasn’t able.
No they didn't. When he retired had no impact on that money whether it was before or after February 4th as long as he retires SOMETIME before next year.
Agreed. It was ludicrous to think that a leaked report would have any bearing on whether Brady got a payment like this. The NFL contracts don't operate on Twitter announcements, even the Feb. 4th payment really was tied to his retirement date specifically.
does anyone actually think the bucs are gonna ask for that money back though? I mean, they aren't the detroit lions here...
Brady is entitled to the $15m payment, it's the pro-rated portion of his signing bonus that is due back. I have no idea what will really happen but I would actually be a little surprised if Brady kept the money. Seems like they'd just settle up and part amicably.
nah, that was the prevailing theory by everyone for a bit. in other news, Brian Flores has sued the NFL alleging racial hiring practices and also that dolphins owner offered him $100k per loss to tank
