The Braves placed Adam Duvall on paternity leave today. Exactly 9 months ago was an off day for the Braves between the end of the regular season and the start of the 2021 playoffs, lol.
Should be a fun three-game series, Braves vs Mets, starting tonight. Mets currently up on the Braves by 1.5 games. The Mets are really good, but the Braves have played well the last 45 days to change that lead from 10.5 to 1.5. Battle of the Maxes: Scherzer against Fried in the opener. And, just to troll the Mets a little (not really . . . but maybe?) the Braves signed Robinson Cano to a AAA deal, and then activated him today and he's in the starting lineup tonight against the Mets . . . who are paying most of his salary this year ($20 million).

Ozzie Albies is on the IL, potentially back in September. Orlando Arcia has been his primary replacement at 2B for the Braves, but he pulled his hammy last night, so the Braves called up hot prospect Vaughn Grissom from AA. He started the game tonight and his first MLB hit was a HR that went out of Fenway Park. The Braves had a soft serve ice cream machine in the clubhouse last year and won the World Series. The machine was not there when the season started this year. Travis d'Arnaud asked GM Alex Anthopolous last week if they could get the machine back. AA told him if the Braves take 3 of 4 from the Mets, they could. Tonight they won the 3rd of 4 games. The Braves mascot Blooper changed his Twitter name to Ice Cream Machine Blooper and the Braves tweeted this, with Bloop's reply:
