I’m glad I don’t live in an area where his fame was huge, because he sucked. That 9/11 propaganda song he made was one of the most hilarious pieces of shit to ever be recorded.
It’s a shame, because he did have talent, and some songs were good (for country music at the time). Then he helped start the patriotic cash grab that’s plagued country music for the last two decades. I don’t wish cancer on anybody, though. Go to the doctor and keep an eye on shit.
I didn't hate Toby Keith. I liked "Should've Been A Cowboy" and "Wish I Didn't Know Now" and saw him in Beaver Creek, Colorado one time. Not, like saw him play, but just saw him walking around the village. Didn't act like a dick. Shannon Tanner is a guy with guitar that plays in Hilton Head, SC at Palmetto Dunes in the Summer, and he played at McCoy's Cafe at the bottom of the main Beaver Creek area during the Winter/Spring. In March of 2012, I saw him playing while hanging out with my brother-in-law. It was like the second week of March or so. He played "Red Solo Cup" (Toby Keith's song). A couple weeks later, I wasn't there, but he played it again, as I'm sure he did many times that season. Except this time, Toby Keith was sitting out there having a beer, so he joined him on stage.
Got dragged to a concert of his ~14 years ago and he put on decent show. Fuck cancer. Seems like that shit is everywhere.
I know a guy who is probably crying over this right now. He was always playing douchey bro-country in the shop.
Do you ever have anything nice to say about the US or its people? Not that I'm a Toby Keith fan, you're just always putting us down, man.
He wore really nice jean jackets. He really nailed the upturned-brim-cowboy-hat-with-a-bandana-also-with-long-curly-hair look. He also was really good at being the touchstone of politicizing country music, making it shittier and inspiring country artists to record bias bullshit like (for example) “God Must Be Busy” and “What Do Ya Think About That” with his constant post-9/11 pandering. ….and the Jean jackets were nice. And Red Solo Cup was a catchy tune.
he was also a hardcore democrat who pandered to the republican crowd. Dishonesty at its finest. I love country music, but hate the politization and pandering part of it, a technique which largely defined his career. Jason Aldean as well.
Jason aldean as far as politicizing and pandering. Yeah he's in no way a dem. He's just a straight up asshole.
Jason Aldean is the kind of guy who would use a black cabbage patch doll as a pinata at his kid's birthday party.
I was waiting for someone to go there. I just couldn't bring myself to be the first one to hit that low though. Spoiler the one miss he should have made
