Thank you, Tigers. We all enjoyed that. Are the playoffs getting bigger every year? It seems every season they are adding more teams, more games, etc. Less than a decade ago it was one wildcard team, one wildcard game per league. Not that I’m complaining at all— I used to think it was ridiculous when only FOUR TEAMS made the playoffs up until 1995. This is better for the fans AND players.
A Cleveland, San Diego World Series would not make me unhappy. Both are long suffering fan bases and both teams have not been in the Series for Decades.
Damn, every losing team just evened their series. Carpenter was clutch for the Tigers, there have been some crazy home runs so far. Every wildcard team is a legitimate threat this time— the Dodgers are now in the Shit and there’s no franchise just running away with it all.
The Padres-Dodgers series looks to be a spectacle from here on out. Not only do we get potential brawls, but you get fans taking every action from the opposing team as a hate crime, while any action their team takes is just good ol’ unwritten rules.
Well Tampa Bay Rays stadium has been torn apart by the hurricane. MLB there is a perfectly good stadium in Oakland with a fan base primed to show that they will support anyteam not owned by an idiot. It would be a fine place to park a team till they get something sorted out.
Kike Hernandez such a typical dick move in the post-game interview. Asks "are we live?" And when he finds out they are says "fuck" just to get away with it? I guess. So stupid, because they'll add a 3 second dump delay to the broadcast. Idiot.
Congrats to Manfred, I guess. There used to be a time that this outcome would cause FSG to spend money to try and keep it from happening the next year. But those days are probably gone.
Mets had the highest payroll this year, then Yankees, then Dodgers. (then, Phillies, Astros, Rangers) So, all the free agents are loving that this is the World Series matchup. Spend more! You'll get to the Championship! I'd like to point out the Braves payroll in 2024 was about $100 million less than the Mets, and the Braves were still the last NL East team to win the World Series. And, the Pirates joined the NL Central in 1994 and they still have more NL East titles than the Mets. Just sayin'
Oh, we are entering another Money Wins era just like the late 90’s. And all the fresh poseur fans will pop up with it too, just like how Yankees fans quintupled around 1996 for “some reason”. As if the world needs more fucking Dodger fans, they can’t build the prisons fast enough to house them.
Lookout. The next team on the payroll list after the Rangers is the Blue Jays, so those fresh poseurs are headed your way.
Any time the Jays money their roster it fails horribly. They have so much because they have a country full of fans. Snd the amount they pumped into renovating SkyDome shows, it’s a whole new park in there now, for the better in every way except prices.
It wouldn’t be a Yankees playoff game without their Down syndrome fans trying to cheat on their behalf. They never change. How the fuck do people that stupid afford those front row tickets?
