There are a lot of dumb people doing dumb things in the NFL, but it's pretty next-level to be the best jump ball receiver on a football team, and during a game-winning hail mary attempt, to decide to fight with your DB out of the back of the endzone rather than being anywhere near the ball. https://twitter.com/big_business_/status/1859816256075071825?s=46 https://x.com/LoreLodge/status/1859814587379613753
Honestly, the most stunning part of his tenure was not the fact that they would repeatedly botch high pressure situations, but that he'd then go into press conferences and confidently announce that they did everything right and wouldn't change anything on a do-over. It seemed like such a stunning revelation. Like, yep, I was dumb enough to do that, but also the video evidence absolutely does not dissuade me from believing I did right, and I definitely won't learn from my mistake. Even the most mealy-mouthed coaches who love to to the Coach Speak Dance with the press don't usually go out and simply deny there is any reason to believe they did something wrong.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/1h4leet/highlight_josh_allen_throws_to_amari_cooper_who/ One of the funniest plays I've ever seen.
Well, that sucked big hairy balls. Balls almost as big as it took for them to go for it. I'm looking at you Dan C. You ballsy MF. Also, if I hadn't have known, I'd never guessed their D-line is mainly the back-ups right now.
That was the luckiest fucking doink I've ever seen. The Chiefs have won their last 3 or 4 games on a wing and a prayer.
https://www.espn.com/espn/betting/s...million-bet-eagles-wins-panthers-dropped-pass I bet this gambler nearly had a heart attack on that dropped pass for the go ahead touchdown. Normally, and I say this as a Panthers fan, betting against them is all but a sure bet, but they've been making it close lately.
Bryce Young's turn around after being benched has been insane. It looks like they have their HC and QB now.
To be a Bengals fan: to make the playoffs, you need a 2-time defending SB champion, modern dynasty with the best player in the game to beat a Denver team with a rookie qb in a rebuilding year.... Nope. I genuinely feel bad for them.
I mean, realistically what the Bengals needed to make the playoffs was to not allow 25+ points in half of their games this season. They allowed 33+ in 5 games. They lost their season opener at home to a team vying for the #1 overall pick (not a high scoring game, but still). That was a stunningly incompetent defense. They gave up 38 points to the fucking Steelers, their high score of the season, shortly before Pittsburgh went into a 4 game losing streak where they couldn't notch half that total. It should never have come down to the last week of the season.
Joe was on a five game win streak. I, too, wish the Chiefs would have put in some effort in their game just to see what Joe could do with that momentum in the playoffs, rather than see the Broncos lose their next game. I like pulling for the Joe Burrow in the playoffs.
Sure. I don't love the games on the last week of the season where teams with nothing to play for cause playoff seeding waves. But hey. KC had every reason to sit their starters - not least because really nobody wants to see that offense in the playoffs - and if you don't want to get fucked by a team who sits their starters in week 17, a good start is to not go into week 14 with a 4-8 record.
I’m watching the Packers/Eagles game. I don’t really have a dog in this fight, so I hope it’s a good game, and that everyone has fun, and they all grow a bit as people from the experience.. . . . F the Eagles, I hope Green Bay eviscerates them.
