    Just make the douche-Olympics it's own thread, or even a series of threads as matchups with polls. One thread for the brackets, then each matchup gets a poll/discussion that lasts a day. Every day, new thread, new poll, new discussion. The thing lasts a couple of weeks, generates some conversation outside the drunk thread, and if you want to ignore it, you're free to do so.

    Boom, done.

    Besides, are we worried about cluttering up the forum and blocking all the other thriving new threads? At least it is new and original and might spark discussion.

    I'm all for holding a douche Olympics. Lately I've become more aware of these boner garbage and it would be interesting to see what the consensus is on the matter, especially considering the comedic talent that frequents the board.

    Speaking of to catch a predator.


    Anyone seen Adam Carolla's new show To Catch A Contractor? Im a huge fan of his podcast and I know we have some fans here. The show? Ehh kind of lame. You can tell as cooked as it is he has very very little input on it creatively. I've watched three episodes and the schtick is just kind meh. Maybe I missed it on his podcast but I don't ever remember him mentioning there being other host with him on the show. The husband and wife contractor/detective couple are lame and useless. I guess the dude is supposed to be the Jon Taffer-esque tough guy and Adam plays comic relief?

    Ive seen 3 episodes and they all followed the same setup: Foreign contractor fucked up a project. Adam and tough guy dog the bad work for a little bit, Adam jokes with home owner about not being as famous as his old partner Jimmy Kimmal. Wife then goes under cover to "catch" said shitty mexican contractor. He agrees immediately to fix his mistakes once confronted, Adam jokes again about his lack of fame compared to Kimmel. Two and a half minutes are dedicated to the fixing. Rinse repeat.


    It doesn't help as a fan of the podcast to hear him constantly talk about not wanting to be on location and that he secretly wishes everything like this would go away. You can really feel it in his delivery and enthusiasm in the show. I think the show could be great if they tweaked it a bit. Lose the husband and wife, make it an hour, and give Adam a lot more time to go into detail about what's wrong with the work and confront the shitty contractor specifically on shit. Adam knows his shit, and calling out the contractor inch by inch of bad work in high detail would be great.

    I was going to give it a shot but after reading that I'll pass. Somebody made Ace a decent enough offer for him to do it but in listening to his show you can tell his enthusiasm for filming the scenes isn't there.

    I am looking forward to Road Hard, his other film The Hammer was very good, this one should be on par with it.

    Don't understand the Crown Olympics hate in here.

    Places like this messageboard require some effort on the part of some folks. Maybe you don't like the idea, fine. But at least Crown is putting in some serious effort to liven things up.

    Of course, it's always much cooler (and hipsterish) to sit back, criticize, and contribute nothing, waiting for the 'good times' to just magically roll your way.

    I think a separate thread, in honor of 'March Madness' could be a lot of fun. And for those that don't like such a thread, as D26 said, just flip the page (or thread, in this case).

    My two cents, which are usually worth only about one...

    Co-signed. I'll probably be far too baked to contribute to the Douchelympics thread, but I guarantee you I'll get a couple of laughs out of reading it. And who knows, maybe one of the brackets will include a pet hate of mine that will inspire me to post. Coming up with new ideas is a hard gig, give the man some support.
