Turns out that was a witness. Poor dude got fully strip searched. The second suspect is still at large.
The golden era that you're harking back to is a fabrication born of nostalgia, and never truly existed in the form you think it did.
Seconded. There has never been a golden age where everything was peachy. There has always been cheating, murder, sleaze, and lying journalists lining their pockets with the fruits of sensationalism. They were just better dressed back then.
My wife works in Medford and I work out of Waltham, so we're both home today. She actually went all the way to work before finding out it was locked down. Tufts (where she works) emailed out a lockdown notice but didn't call people so she had no way to know commuting down from NH. So that was kind of scary to contemplate for a little while. But she made it back home ok and we're in the house waiting for things to develop.
This may be an insensitive and stupid question, but having never been part of any kind of citywide lockdown before, I'm woefully ignorant. So, everything is shut... What do normal citizens do if, for instance, the baby needs diapers? Or what do the homeless do if all businesses (including shelters?) are shut? or is there a minimum "skeleton crew" functioning for essential services?
Not all businesses are shut down, the government can't legally force them to without martial law. It's just strongly suggested people stay home. Im looking outside and there's plenty of traffic and people walking around. The coffee shop near me was open and buzzing as usual.
Police officers are going door to door with bottles of water and clay pots for babies to shit in. The homeless are considered to be safe from harm as they are "basically invisible" at this point.
Holy shit, you have invisible homeless people way down there? How do you avoid tripping over them? Look for floating bottles of Night Train in your path?
Maybe he means the good ok days before that, when kindly public servants used their hoses on hot summer days to cool down black people.
I miss the days when one had the freedom to post Youtube videos WHEREVER YOU WANTED! "GIVE ME YOUTUBE OR GIVE ME DEATH!"--Patrick Henry
There is an entire thread dedicated to the bombings. Please post about the ongoing breaking news and such in that thread kids. In other news, Taco Bell has something, something sinful and spectacular. I will share for those of you who haven't discovered them and you can hate me later, once the addiction begins. Cinnabon Delights. Yes, I am aware Cinnabon had them prior but I have never been to one. I have however hit up Taco Bell.
