I have over time developed a defiant hatred of the show. I don't tend to judge because I like my own share of stupid banal shit TV. But people are always in my face laughing at Bazinga! or cooing with delight over the soft kitty poem. UGH! So now I pretty much automatically hate anything to do with the show, even stuff I might not normally hate otherwise. Which given their geeky shtick is problematic.
It THAT what's funny now? Intellectual buzzwords? If somebody was to tell me they hate their job because there boss in an authoritative maljusted neurotic pre-Cretaceous psychotic suffering delusions of grandeur my only response could be "You're a fucking douchebag."
Apparently people think this is funny. Watch, the next thing you know people will go around having fun with the fact that the air is 80% nitrogen, I'm sure they'll say things like did you know there's very little oxygen in air? Or did you know the number 1 green house gas is dihdryogen monoxide? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccr0j8-7agA One stupid science pop culture trend that really annoys me is when people attempt to dumb down oncology research. Cancer is brilliant thing thats very complex and researchers are still working on understanding the basic mechanisms of it. Don't try to dumb down the research to your level, don't try to simplify researchers' lifework into two sentences that are inaccurate and don't convey the evil complexity of the disease.
All of this BBT talk...I've never seen a second of it so you guys are talking in buzzes and clicks. In other news, I went grocery shopping at lunch and found these: The cherry is the shit.
Now I'm not one to jump on the hating popular things bandwagon, but I'm for one not a huge fan of comedies with characters that just couldn't possibly exist in real life like Sheldon. Also, I know way more about Star Trek, Star Wars, LoTR, and other things the early seasons frequently went to early for jokes. Now I was introduced to this show through a girl that has no nerd bone in her body that thought it was hilarious. My thought the entire time was "You don't even get 50% of the shit they're talking about, I do, and its only okay." Then I watched more and I had enough of Sheldon, then checked out. The show did eventually try its ass off to go from getting its viewers to laugh with the nerds instead of laughing at the nerds, but I'm sure a huge part of the population is still in the latter group.
Every episode of Star Trek ever: Kirk: "Guy in red shirt, look under that rock. While he does that, Regular cast members hide behind that boulder."
Whoa, let me correct that. Rushed posting due to chaotic atmosphere. Just had the first beer at the new agency. One of the clients is MillerCoors so enjoying that good life of free Redd's Apple Ale. Not my favorite cider, but given that its free, its, for me. Too bad it isn't delivered in a beer cart, going to talk to people about that.
Dumb people love to believe they're smarter than they actually are. There is also a prevailing idea that if I like the same things that smart people like it makes me smart. From what I've seen of the Big Bang Theory, there is only one nerdy character who isn't a genius. It also seems that they started with an autistic character and slowly turned him into normal but quirky dickhead.
Sudden backtracking to due to supposed misunderstanding during messaging. Are you SoonerGal's stalker?
I had a "stout cider" last night that starts as half low gravity stout wort and half apple juice before fermentation. It's... interesting. The dry hopped cider is much better.
Fuck yeah. I am making beer with a buddy tomorrow. We started making a batch last weekend but when we were almost ready to add yeast to the mix, his roommate tipped over the 5 gallon glass carboy onto the floor and it shattered. Whoops! So tomorrow is attempt #2, and the roommate will not be allowed in the kitchen. At least I'll suggest that as a rule.
Anyone have Sonos speakers? Are they worth the price? I'd like to rig a few rooms with them, but am concerned where to place them for optimum acoustics.
