    Overheard in the lunchroom:
"You can run, but you can't hide from Doctor Poon."

In some ways, I will miss this place.

Okay, did everyone else need to get approved again? I feel kind of unloved. If this post appears twice, well, you'll get twice the laughs. I didn't think the original posted because of the crazy shenanigans that are going on.

There were another 60k+ that were accounts that were deactivated, so not doing anything, but taking up space.

Did some major spring cleaning, and things seem to be a bit peppier, to say the least.

The guy nearly scares me with how fast he is at this shit. Never fuck with a security engineer on the Internet.

    Kudos Nett.

Thanks, but really it comes pretty easy... I do very big online database systems for a living. Think online banking and online video games systems.

EA Sports online? With 25 million concurrent users, and hundreds of millions of registered users globally, that interacts with every version of every EA Sports game on every platform? I architected the hardware and software, was the only database architect on the project, and led the development team.

Need For Speed World Online? Mechwarrior Online? Sins of a Dark Age? Same deal.

A little, shitty PHP forum like TiB with a couple thousand users isn't hard, it's just a pain in the ass... especially when you don't have access to the stuff you should, and there are huge limits on what you can do because it's hosted at a dive of a web host.

And part of the problem was that it had been left to grow wild for a couple of years...

But there ya go, it's done now.

    FLORIDA HOOOOOOOOOOOO

I want to introduce you to the latest barrage from the Sunshine State: a guy who is fighting the state to marry his porn-drenched laptop. But let's hear his side of the story.

Translated: "I am socially retarded beyond the fabric of being and demand everyone's attention for it."

This guy is apparently already been accused or charged with stalking one of the guys from Big & Rich and a teenaged girl. Oh, and trying to sue A&E for dropping Duck Dynasty. Is this guy the biggest dipshit in America or something?

    nettdata,

Thanks for doing something to make the board better. I was pretty sure it was going to die before you so kindly came back.

    Beer Geeks,

Today I went out for dinner at a brewery/ pizza place in the middle of nowhere Harrisburg, PA. I had a beer nerdgasm. I had been to this place before. They have 100 tap handles and 20 of the beers are made in house. That is all fine and dandy. Today they were having a Founders tap take over. They had most of the standard Founders beers. They were pouring All Day IPA infused with peppers and limes for Cinco De Mayo. Those beers came with a free Founders pint glass. I thought that was pretty bad ass.

I was pretty geeked about the new pint glasses. I went to close my tab, and while waiting in line they did something amazing. They broke out bottles of Kentucky Breakfast Stout and vintages of the Nemesis series. These beers are almost impossible to come by unless you know where they are going to be, and you get there within the hour. Needless to say I did not close my tab. Instead I embraced some of the finest beers that the craft scene has seen in the past 5 years.

Yesterday my wife gave me my thirtieth birthday present, which was tickets to the Reds game in the club level. Those come with free food! The Reds won on walk off in the bottom of the tenth.

These two days combined were pretty goddamned amazing. The only way it could have been better is if I was watching Phil Michelson make out with Jon Bon Jovi.

    Life is sweet.

I leave for China in five days. I just started compiling our "to do before we leave" list and it's four pages long so far.

    WE IS FUCKED.

However, for his efforts, I shall bring Nettdata back a host of little Asian women who will walk on his back and do his bidding and who, in exchange for this, will ask only to be spat on and told how useless they are.

Will you be doing actual moderation? Things that have happened since the moderation ended included blatant racism, sexism and disrespect for the crippled community. It is my belief that due to the lack of moderation on these topics, along with really just one really long ongoing unorganized thread every week that the bulk of the members packed up shop and left. I was just curious, I am not criticizing.
