Yes, stereotypes can be bad, but lets not go all Nom here. When people think of trailer parks they don't think Rhodes scholars and white collar accountants. And as usual Toytoy wins the most fucked up story of the night, but at the end of the day we may as well name that after him because he always wins. Its almost like Lebron playing basketball against midgets, its just not fair
Yep. I miss Mississippi. And having toys. Oh well, I'll be back on track soon enough. But in the mean time, it sucks.
I just fried the output on my guitar multi-effects rig, so am sitting here cruising eBay/Amazon/Guitar shops online... it could end up being an expensive night. @toytoy88 ... any recommendations for a multi-effect rig that I can plug right into my mixer? XLR or 1/4" inputs, doesn't matter...
Just ran across this: http://line6.com/firehawk-fx-multi-effects-pedal/ Just watched about 30 mins of YouTube vids on it and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Especially for $500
I have a 24 channel with 2 subs and 2 monitor PA system... usually provide mics for vocals, drums, bass, etc., for jam sessions. Always preferred having a line out to a mixer rather than a cab.
Basically, I have 2500 watts of high-end PA with proper crossover, and a 24 channel pro mixer, so why not take advantage of it?
I've only had one multi FX rig and it just confused the hell out of me. It had 4 pedals, and all these confusing knobs. Most of what it did was crap I could care less about. I pretty much just run straight into a Marshall with maybe a chorus stomp box. At the moment I don't have a Marshall or a stomp box, I just run into a Korg digi 8 track with effects.
Yeah, I went down the road of having a Marshall into a 4x10, then a 2x10/2x12, then a 5150 dual cab, and it just didn't do it for me. I'm no pro, so I just want to be able to make weird sounds and make them loud, so a direct stereo out to a loud stereo PA worked for me. And the geek part of me kind of likes the ability to twiddle digital knobs and settings and stuff to get that "perfect sound" for that one song.
I had a Line 6 2x12 amp about 15 years ago, I'm guessing it was when they first came out. It was actually pretty damn impressive with it's modeling of effects (That's why I bought it.) If they're still up to speed, I don't think you'd be disappointed buying one. The one I had was loaded with a shit load of onboard effects, and they were good.
The two big ones seem to be Roland/Boss and Line6 for their modelling... and I've had a number of Roland effects (VG-88, etc) in the past, and really, the iPad/Computer interfacing with the Line6 seems pretty damn impressive... so yeah, I placed the order about 20 minutes ago. Again, for under $600 delivered, it's worth a try.
Cool. Give us a review when you get it. I'm kind of stuck in the old school Gibson/Marshall thing. And sadly I'm playing a Schecter (Which I really dig) with EMG pups (Replacing the original Seymour Duncan's) through a crappy Korg 8 track. I just can't have a Marshall right now. Maybe I should set the baseball cards aside for a couple weeks and buy an SG .
Fuck back pain, if I was a dog they would have taken me out back and shot me a long time ago. Getting drunk didn't make it go away either.
I had a Korg effects processor for a while, and it was pretty decent considering it was cheap. I'm with toytoy though, I run a simple rig, boss chorus, boss compressor, tuner, volume pedal, crybaby wah into a Hot Rod Deville 2X12 - 60 amp, all tube. The nice thing is the Fender has very usable 3 channels - clean, crunch, lead - which makes it much easier to break down and set up. My friend had a Cybertwin, which had a lot of cool sounds, but he spent so much time mucking about with knobs it wasn't a great live amp.
Fuck this rain. Fuck this rain so very hard. It's south texas, supposed to be drought season. Instead we've had three straight weeks of heavy rain and looks like another week ahead of us. The ground feels like a waterbed.
It's been a deluge of rain here too. I woke up this morning and there is a huge branch from the oak tree above right next to my car. Luckily it looks like it missed my car by mere inches.
I live in the rainiest area in the continental US. I actually like the rain...everything stays green and I don't have to water my garden much. Also I am curious about where in the world you might be that you get 10 feet of rain a year...
Sorry it was 102in, not 120in. But still lots. http://www.weatherstats.ca/winners.html?location=ottawa;category=41 Check out Prince Rupert, for anything bad(rain/least sun shine/most wet days....)
