To be fair, the last time Rush grabbed a stripper's can, he was asked to leave Home Depot. Get it? Home Depot? Paint stripper? Get it? Fuck, I slay me.
Rest assured, I'm still alive. As far as I'm aware there were no casualties other than the beer bottle I broke at the bar. Apparently I was drunk. Who knew.
Hey, look lady. Not all of us can get the joy of tucking our boobs into our waistband like you, but that's no reason to be mean. Oh, thank God. I think I speak for all of us when I say, "Show us your ti- uh, I mean, we're so glad!"
The stripper was before the bar, thank you very much. I did sweep up my own broken glass though. That's embarrassing, by the way, and wasteful. I don't think I've ever broken a beer bottle before. I never drink like that anymore and holy hell did I feel it the whole next day. I didn't feel human again until 6 pm on Sunday. I'm getting old. In other news there will be 6 kegs at the wedding on Saturday.
There was a dive bar I went to in college. We used to break the bottles on the floor after every beer. They'd sweep up every hour or so.
Ugh, you would call him by the name the white man gave when they tried to enslave his kind you cis hetero shit lord.
I wish this was getting more press, at least coming up in her interviews. https://mobile.twitter.com/Jolieishere/status/610281182211764226 I mean, that shit is damn near tracing.
Then you'll love this'n here: Racially motivated mass shooting in a southern black church: http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...ng-at-historic-charleston-african-ame-church/ The blogosphere today will be unlike anything ever heard before. Now that a standing (black) senator has been executed in his own church by a white guy with a gun, certain, ahem, politically minded types from both sides of the aisle will be frothing at the mouth. From a sociological perspective it is going to be fascinating. Classes will be taught about the cognitive dissonance. I might just turn the computer off until Friday. Is it still 1965? I can't remember. Edit: The fucking shooter HAS A BOWL HAIRCUT. Goddammit. Why does this strike me as evidence of his state of mind?
This shit seriously pisses me off. What the fuck is wrong with people? Black, white, transgender, whatever, we're all just trying to get through the day and find some fuckin happiness. I just don't get what someone gets out of targeting a specific group and enjoys the hate. Fucking douchebags. You don't like you? Fine, I get that, just keep it contained to yourself and let folks do what they want to do. It's shit like this that gives me the briefest, tiniest glimpse into what some of the members on this board go through in trying to get through their day. Unbelievable. 1965? Some days I wonder if it isn't 1865.
From the 20 minutes of coverage I have seen, got some speculation of my own. The only fact the police have given is that it was racially motivated. The significance of the church and its pastor are undeniable. People are already asking why it has to be a racial attack; it wouldn't be labeled such if it was a black shooter. I swear people just fall all over themselves racing to be the first to start this shit. From some asswipe on Fark:, 'Love how they have brought out the "hate crime" just because the shooter is white, without even knowing why he did it. Nice reporting there, just GUESS his motive. I guess screaming "hate crime" due to race is more trolling than "crazy man shoots up church". What difference does it make what color he was? You would have to be insane to do something this horrible.' So it begins. If anyone is looking for some punishment, read a news site's comment sections.
Ultimately, I agree with you. I think the legal treatment of 'hate crimes' is ridiculous. Someone white shoots me, I'm dead. Do I then get to think 'Thank God, it wasn't a 'hate' crime!' Am I any less dead? Like somehow the reason someone put a bullet in me matters to my corpse. But again, I agree, the 'news' as such has become a parody of itself. I miss the good old days of Walter Cronkite, where you actually were given facts while they reported something.
The hate crime designation is intended to allow additional punishment to be handed out for any given crime. It's not supposed to matter to you, it's supposed to matter to the perpetrator.
