I grew up Lutheran. We had wine, Mogen David Concord to be exact, for communion. My husband's church is Baptist, Welch's grape juice just isn't the same.
Any reaction to the cosby mistrial? I was rooting for his ass to rot in jail so he could get a taste of his own pudding pop medicine.
The Cosby Mistrial or the Cosby Ministry? I would think churches would encourage drinking, much easier to shame and expose someone after they've had a few.
Too funny... Ryan Reynolds is Instagramming pics of the castle where I went to college (Royal Roads Military College). I didn't realize until today that it's been used as the X-Men castle.
The inside of the X-Men manor (except the kitchen) is Toronto's monstrous mansion Casa Loma, another gorgeous must-see building. I love architecture. Notre Dame cathedral was a particular favourite of mine, along with basically half of Paris.
And miss all the hilarious fake-actor intensity? There's no way I'm wasting a buzz. Catholics it's bordom and guilt, and sorry but I am not a wine guy. Even Anglicans will sing like hyper loons on Sunday, at least you get an amusing show for missing out on the pre-games.
After February I found the Catholic service purposeful. Not that I went there to worship, but it was a quiet place where I could be introspective and think about what happened. I like the ritual and quiet nature of that service.
Happy Father's Day (Weekend) to all you father's out there. Here's hoping that the wife and kids give you what you really want for FD, and not what they THINK you want. This thought brought to you by a phone call my mother just had with a friend who thought it would be great to book a 4-some of golf with her husband and another couple. The two husbands are avid golfers, and the wives go out once every few years. She was surprised that he was a bit frustrated and resigned to golfing 18 holes with rank amateurs. I laughed. To celebrate Father's Day this year I committed to getting the patio table done in my dad's memory, and succeeded. Came out pretty well, if I do say so myself. Now it's just a matter of scheduling friends to help move the behemoth up onto the deck... hopefully tomorrow. Anyone into the America's Cup this year? It's being held in Bermuda, and it looks like it's going great so far. They have a pretty good YouTube channel with some reasonable recaps and live coverage, if you're interested.
Me, of course. I watch the YouTube channel. Did you see the collision on day one? Nearly crushed all the grinders. Those boats are amazing.
The weirdest thing I've seen in a long time. Bill Cosby doing the Fat Albert voice while leaving court.
I watched that and was amazed that nobody got their legs crushed... I figured for sure someone was going to be hurt they way they hang off the edge. It was kind of weird to watch them just try and push off the other boat... when you realize the forces involved, you realize just how futile that action is.
Let's face facts: you have to have a well above-average size of balls to participate in that. And the level of crazy to match. That is a sport where I have to sit back and let the pros do it from a distance because the sea is a cruel mistress.
A van just ran over a bunch of people in London near a famous mosque. Bystanders pulled the driver out and held him until police got there. THATS how you stop a terror attack from getting worse. Run, hide or fight. And if you fight, mob that motherfucker!
I was doing a distance race on the Chesapeake Bay on a Pearson 34. We got hit by a Beneteau 440 that wasn't reefed and rounded up in a gust. I tried the same thing, to push the boat away, but when its anchor started ripping out stanchions, I just let it do its thing. Right at $10,000 in damage to the Pearson. Probably would have just been a scratch or two if the guy hadn't been racing with his anchor on the bow.
It's always fun to hop in your truck (Which is parked in the shade) at 6 AM and see that it's a cool, brisk 90 degrees already.
