I remember that's how the Space Shuttle was. NASA launched 2 in October 1985, 1 in November, and 2 in January 1986. The 2nd one wouldn't have even been noticed at all, except there was a school teacher on board Challenger. And then it blew up.
Not too many reality shows could claim those numbers after taking 2 1/2 years off. Then, they pretty much went to averaging one every other month for the next 84 missions over the next 17 years. (Until another one blew up and they took 2 1/2 years off again.)
That was my first thought also. The Soviet Union always had something to lose if they went all ballistic. That idiot in North Korea, just seems looney enough to pull the trigger for shits and giggles.
North Korea actually launching a nuke at the US or Japan would immediately replace 9/11 as the defining event of the 21st century.
Hey it'd be fucked up if they did. They know it'd come with being bombed back to the Afghanistan ages. My guess is his bluster is just to keep his people's brainwashing in line. Pressuring china to help seems more proactive than we've historically been.
The missile they fired maybe has the capacity to hit Alaska, They didn't say what part, they didn't say if its an inhabited part. The Norks are a ways off from hitting the continental. If they do fire a missile and it happens to hit something meaningful, then its going to have to be China who reigns them in. If the US strikes the South Koreans and Japanese are going to be bombarded by tons of crappy soviet era weapons.
Nice! Happy Birthday! Personally, I've been tempted to pull the trigger on their KombiTool setup... tiller, blower, sweeper, trimmer, edger... what can't it do?
29. Last of my "fun" years everyone is joking but really the reward is, I'm coming up on 10 years from my brain tumor, and my second son is due at or around that date give or take. August 9th. That's my true reward.
Also, since it's basically midnight on my bday but the damage has already been done, I can finally celebrate: Over the past month I have effectively weaned myself off antidepressants and all the bullshit they gave me 10 years ago for PTSD. Yes, it was against dr's orders, but I know my body better than them. I HATED the mentality of "man up, suck it up," and there was a time and a place when I really needed the help. Medication has its place and time. But there's also a time and a place when enough is enough. Didn't wanna be on that forever. Turns out, my balls were there, waiting on me. Guess you do recover from mental illness given enough time and respect.... man the VA had so much to learn.....
