Maybe it is that "I want the toy that another woman finds so interesting." I got dropped on a regular basis by girlfriends until I actually held on to the present one. Years later I find out that at least two ex's felt mad when I actually wound up getting married. It was like they wanted me around as a fall back if anything happened to their relationships. That is one I could never figure out.
I've seen that a lot too. I don't know that its necessarily a fallback, but maybe more that they are jealous that you moved completely on from them.
Forget even being engaged. This happened to me once I decided I really liked the SO and was going to be with her. I think girls notice the fact you're not trying to go straight for their vaginas and change their view of you. Also, could have a big change if your SO has enhanced your look in anyway. I drag my gf to go shopping with me so she can pick out my clothes, I don't want to think about fashion at all.
Its kinda funny, some people like to say all the good ones are taken. Maybe there's more too that statement. Are you only good once someone has decided they can stand you for more than a few hours? As I was reading his post I was thinking the same thing and that not all of us are alike. I find his scenario to be more in the younger women than older. Personally, I don't have time to give two shits about what another female thinks about me and since I have more than enough friends in my life I don't need to.
