My roommate is asleep in his room, there's a hallway, a wall, a wardrobe and a closed door between us, his room is huge and his bed is on the far side of it. He just farted and I heard it over the television show that I currently have playing. A solid 3 second fart that makes me honestly wonder if he shit the bed. I'm wondering if I should kill the central heating before the smell circulates.
The original transcontinental mainframe networking I worked with was achieved with a rack of gear (manufactured by Gandalf) that provided a 300 baud satellite interconnect to the UK office. *drops mic*
It was a few years ago, but this is to my best recollection a verbatim conversation with the client - "We have a stability oriented model. These control and communication systems have unparalleled stability in our platform, so we've not upgraded" "I get that, but C'mon, was this system implemented in the 80's or something?" "Yes... And?" "... I didn't really have a follow up to that point."
