One time I was out hunting, driving the atv way too fast down some trails. Not sure if I hit an actual nest or just a swarm, but I got hit in the face by about a dozen hornets. Including 4 stings on one eyelid (I wasn't wearing a helmet like an idiot and closed my eyes when the stings started). Worst pain ever. On the plus side, no concussions?

Of course, there are counter protests, and by that I mean they're just going around fucking up the nationalists whenever possible. Literally right when I started this post, some dudes waving the confederate flag were on tv beating the shit outta people with what looked like broom sticks and other makeshift weapons.

Yeah sorry guys. It went from funny to sad real quick. In other news, Karbach Brewing out of Houston does some really fucking delicious stuff. Their IPA, Hopadillo, is amazing. Their lager though might be one of my favorite microbrew lagers to ever try (I don't normally like microbrew lagers, they try to be too fancy).
My neighbor is down in that area for work and is supposed to be bringing me back some Hopadillo. Glad to hear someone else say it's pretty good. In other news, I had to turn down a request to do a catering gig for 1000 people this week. It would've been by far the largest job, both cooking and pay wise we've ever done, but the timing couldn't be worse with the newborn in the house. Thankfully the guy is planning on making this an annual thing and was completely understanding of my current situation and said he'd come back to us first next year to see if it's a better situation.
Indeed, I love being 10 minutes from that brewery. They even have an outdoor biergarten with live music and food trucks. And the restaurant on site is pretty good. I inspected the facility last year. It's pretty cool getting a private tour. They recently sold to ABInbev for a couple hundred mil.
And after moving out of old place, which furnished a tv and meanwhile I kept my old one in storage, I'm reminded why I like plasma TV's. I used to be a huge SRV fan, and my friends would always bug me about it. SRV and Van Halen were my life when I was younger. I come into the bar one day, and they say, "SRV is dead". I thought they were fucking with me. Nope... helicopter crash. Still the biggest "musician death impact" I've experienced.
Anybody here have a go to beef short rib recipe? I'm embarrassed to say that the only way I've ever made short ribs before has been on the smoker. So, I'm looking for a recipe that I can make in a crock pot or pressure cooker.
