I guess we're now at the start of the Labour Day Weekend... but it seems that someone (@shegirl) didn't spin up a new thread... probably something about picking up her new puppy distracted her... Oh well... not worth spinning up a new one now... but, uh... Happy Labour Day?
Amazon had a sale on a fire pit that showed up today... so after a long day of work, it felt really awesome to just sit in the back yard, drinking a beer, and having a nice outdoor fire. It also helps that it's fucking chilly around here these days... it was 4 Celsius this morning. But sitting in a chair, staring at a nice smelling fire (I was burning some cedar scraps), while having a bite to eat, was incredibly cathartic. Gotta love some Urban Camping.
Out of morbid curiosity, since I guess you read the story somewhere, what's the punishment for that? Having to attend an Osteen sermon or something?
I really don't remember. It wasn't severe, like a horrible parking ticket or something. Or maybe it was worse. It didn't really affect me, so it just kind of passed through my brain and out the other side as I thought "Huh. Never knew that."
I've probably mentioned guitar prodigy Thomas McRocklin before. He started like this: Then came this: Then Steve Vai discovered him and put out an awesome album . When he was 12: Annnnddd....last I heard he was working in a Liverpool guitar shop. Music is a cruel bitch. You can have all the talent in the world and....nothing.
I figured the pet thread would be littered with puppy pictures by now. Has anyone checked to be sure She girl is alive and well?
One, is that redhead in that video the same kid who was in Terminator 2? *edit: yes it is* Music is cruel when you play terrible hair rock.
Blasphemy! You can have terrible hair and play rock, and you can have big hair and play terrible rock; but, there is no terrible hair rock. Speaking of hair rock, I think this may have been the pinnacle of ”turn it up in your car” hair metal. Still holds up:
So happy college football is back. CU did the job last night, and the Michigan Florida game will be interesting and so will the Florida State one.
Just bought my first shotgun in long time. I think the looming humanitarian crisis about to wash over this town calls for some improved home defense. Yea the storm is gone and the flooding is starting to slowly recede. But there's over 30,000 people still in shelters, many of which do not have homes anymore. The wealthier folks will be ok during the bidding wars for available rentals. But the poor folks will be engaged in the hunger games before long.
I am watching an illegal stream of a stream I have legal access to because WatchESPN totally shit the bed. A sad commentary on our current state of media delivery.
The fun thing in shotguns these days is the crazy dragon loads. We're not talking steamy targyran loads. Im talking straight fire:
Love these guys. Thats not a hot fire. Just stomp it out, especially when it starts off. I've had bigger fires start in Michigan because of rockets gone wrong. Instead of waiting to get water or something else we all just stomped on the flames. Grass fires aren't that hot, get a shovel, get a boot, and you're fine before it gets too big
