Go 30 minutes further south and stay at Garden City, Surfside, or Pawleys Island. Cheaper and nicer. They've all got the beach stuff to do as well just much less trash.
Yeah if it doesn't come in foil with a tortilla around it or on the side I don't trust it or want it.
I was talking to a someone at the hot tub last night. She told me something interesting about the Minnesota Somali community. Apparently the general prevalence of autism spectrum is about 1:65, in the Somali community its 1:35. ....I will say the Somali's continue to be a problem area in Minneapolis. This person who I was speaking to was looking for environmental causes for this differences in rates. For me, I don't know, I'll just accept that Somali's are more autistic than most populations. I understand that post sounds xenophobic, but most people on here know I love travelling and engaging different communities. For example, the Ethiopian community. Nothing but great experiences with them. I've found them hospitable, smart, and they want to integrate. I was speaking to an Ethiopian last night about how out there, students of all ranges from freshman to grad students, live in dorms. We also discussed how education is funded out here. Awesome conversation. Ethiopians have integrated well, nothing but great experiences with that community. The Somali's out here, well,.....
But then how am I supposed to get to the Tar Babies breakfast buffet? I'm aware of the issues. My parents own a condo that has a lazy river. I rarely leave the complex. I'm not a fan of the beach. I am a fan of plopping myself in a tube and forgetting about my woes for a few weeks.
I don't know about all of your long weekend festivities but I'm up north camping with a group of ridiculous boys and I've given up on things like making sense and wearing bras. I'm super day drunk and apparently we're going to eat pizza? Sry liver?
Irma is looking like a big bitch right now. I am stuck in Guam traveling for business and this thing looks like it could rake the spine of Florida. What a nightmare scenario for Florida if that happens; there is no way to evacuate everyone on the peninsula for something like that. My wife and kids are in Orlando and my in-laws are up in Gainesville, not really too sure what the best course of action for this one is going to be; for Mathew, they just left and went to my in-laws. The next 48 hours will likely tell the tale but I sincerely hope everyone in SOFLO is paying attention, this could reach the upper reaches of a CAT 4 or even a low CAT 5 for landfall. One somewhat positive sign from Harvey though, it seems like people are paying attention right now. Apparently shelves are already emptying of water and batteries.
My boss is determined to stay on Amelia island if it hits. He's like "I guess if it knocks out the bridges and I get stranded there you'll have to run things until they get them repaired." I appreciate the vote of confidence, but I've been trying to persuade him that staying on a tiny coastal island through a category 4 hurricane is a very, very bad idea. I'm not sure I'm going to stay in Jacksonville period if it hits, let alone such a vulnerable area. I have some friends that live right next to the beach and are in the immediate danger zone as well. My mom lives on the inter-coastal waters and would see some really serious flooding. They're not sure yet if it's going to hit Florida, but it looks like Puerto Rico is fucked.
The likelihood of that little goober hitting Guam even if he aimed at it is very low. I can tell you exactly how concerned I am of imminent war because I see the level of activity on the bases here; that level of concern is <1%. If I thought there was an actual danger to America from NK, it would be an EMP strike more so than a nuke. He doesn't need to land one of those, only get it over the target.
