I understand that it happens. I just didn't know everything had to have a term. I'm burned out on everything having to have a term, and instead of it accomplishing anything, it seems it's a product of an "everything has to be pc for fear we offend someone" culture.
Agreed. I don't know if I'd say I "hate" her, but I certainly can't stand her. She actually has a very good voice, she just chooses to use it in terrible fashion. And her speaking positively about LGBT rights or legalization of marijuana is about as effective as a dude wearing a bucket on his head and a stained jean jacket yelling in a public square about the military industrial complex. He might be 100% correct and have intelligent points, but he gives every indication of being a maniac, its no wonder people aren't going to pause and truly take his statements to heart. Last night, Miley tried to be "daring"...she wasn't. Her outfits were absurd. Gaga comparisons are a bit ridiculous, when Gaga started dressing crazy, she was being styled by Alexander McQueen and after his death, she tried to carry on in that bizarre high fashion aesthetic (obviously without success). Miley looked like she was inspired by a schizophrenic homeless meth addict instead of Alexander McQueen. She's clearly not quick on her feet, every time she ad-libbed, she would just swear, make a comment about weed, or yell something nonsensical. Not funny, not clever. And her final performance? Good god. As people said on Twitter, Miley somehow made doing drugs or smoking weed very uncool. Wayne Coyne is a genius who has done some really innovative and admirable shit, I have no clue why he's associated with this trainwreck. I'm sure Miley is actually a good person, her act is just beyond obnoxious and devoid of any real entertainment value, and thats coming from someone who like pop music and enjoys watching the VMAs every year. Oh also, the Nicki Minaj/Miley "confrontation" that seemed staged. I'm tending to believe it wasn't completely fake cause Miley was visibly thrown off and stammered some terrible apologies, and as we saw most of the show, her acting and improvising was incredible subpar.
Wouldn't you know it... race and politics and religion didn't bring it crashing down, but Miley Fucking Cyrus did.
Let's not jump to conclusions. I know they're both not at the height of their stardom at the moment, but I don't think we have to worry about a "Miley Fucking Cyrus" sex tape for at least another three years, when Billy Ray finally burns through his Disney cash.
Pop stars don't bother me much. I can avoid their usually inane views, avoid their music, and pay attention only when their tits "accidentally" fall out. No, it's the reality stars that get me. They're a self serving lot, poisonous to the soul, poisonous to decency, and propagate this entitlement shit to ridiculous levels. That bothers me. Their attitudes bother me. At least the pop stars create something resembling art, actually perform, sing, dance, something of value and of effort. I got into it a bit last night over Nicki Minage. I find her vile. Zero substance beyond that writhing dumper of hers. Most pop stars are selling an image of sex and raunchy shit. Fine. Minage takes it to another level. Her music has no subtext. It is crude in the worst ways, like the script of a bad porno set to music. I like that women have the freedom to perform as they please and share their sexuality, but there has to be some substance behind the message or else who gives a fuck? It's self serving shallowness. Her image is 100% sex. Every video and performance is a twerk fueled mess of undulating bodies. Cyrus may be pushing the sex angle just as hard, but from what I have heard at least her music (sometimes?) balances that out. I am being a hypocrite about it, because they're all pushing this near nude orgy of flesh at shows and in videos, but Nicki gets under my skin. Aretha Franklin she ain't. I am getting old when I use the phrase: they're sending the wrong message to kids. So is Taylor Swift's lyrics, jesus fuck, that girl is a child. Don't stop getting naked, but, what the hell is the point?
She's almost 26.... And not to defend that absurdity that has become Nicki Minaj's music, but she came on the scene originally cause she was one of the most talented female MCs in quite awhile. Starships was where it started to go to hell, but her verses on Monster and a couple other features made a lot of hip hop heads pause and go "DAMN".
Taylor Swift is a child because she acts like one. I sometimes like her music, but she personally sticks in my craw. She kind of reminds me of the nerd in the movies who suddenly becomes popular and it goes to their head. Either that or she has always been like this and created an underdog image to draw fans.
Was it on this board where a poster said that he knew her? Or a close friend? I remember some story about T-Swift's mom paying people to show up to her birthday party and then cajoling guys to dance with her.
Someone said that they went to high school with her and said she was one of the "weird kids". That was the only info I think. Of course we also has a board member who said they went to high school with Bree Olsen and refused to give any other info other than that. i guess everyone knew a celebrity to some degree as a kid. Mine was Eric Lindros who played at the same hockey arena as me as a kid. He was nice, his family were and always will be cunts.
Let me say something bold: fuck the VMA's. I didn't watch any of that patting-themselves-on-the-back-for-doing-their-fucking-jobs shit.
A guy I went to high school with died a few months ago because he wrecked his truck driving back to the bar after his buddy took him home. I just saw a picture on Facebook of a shrine they set up for him at the site of the accident. It had a cross, a picture of him, some flowers, and a case of Miller Lite. And people wonder why I never go back home.
I honestly need to punch something after reading this. Fuck the human race. Burn this world. I take it a lot of people in this town of yours have two first names.
I thought I was in Florida for a moment today. Saw a car pulled over on the highway in the middle of bumper to bumper morning traffic and there was a guy next to it just pissing in the middle of the shoulder. Zero effort to conceal himself. When you gotta go, you gotta go?
