What?! He played Woodrow Call in Dead Man's Walk? What?! I know I've seen it (and any and all extensions of Lonesome Dove) but I never realized it was him. Of course, it's not on Amazon Video so I would have to order the DVD and that won't get here until Tuesday and by then I'll have forgotten all about it. This whole instant gratification thing has spoiled me.
Apparently this is my song of the day, now that I've gone down a Pearl Jam youtube black hole. I'm mixing myself a drink when I should be going to bed.
.... I'm confused. You gotta link to something or further explain this. All I've gathered from the opening ceremonies so far is "look at our art instead of our poverty" and "turns out we invented flight not you guys!!!"
Everything is fine. Stop speading falsehoods. This is normal, the citizenry are simply enjoying the Brazilian tradition of cooking their food in an elaborate, flamboyant way as is our country's custom.
Hired a lady today from Panama who fled to Puerto Rico, then Florida, then Texas. She has a lot of family in Brazil. Apparently it's really difficult to escape Brazil if you have government jobs. They keep tabs on you and shit. I mean we were just talking but she's basically written them off in the way that, emotionally, she's already accepted that they're dead and she'll never see them again kinda thing. It's really sad. They got this whole celebration going on to mask the tragedy behind the flowers and fireworks.
You forgot, "hey, everybody plant some trees and stuff, because we allowed our rain forests to be raped by corporations for years in exchange for big fat money."
When that "prove you aren't a robot" re-captcha test thing says "12 + 11 = ___". And you gotta figure it out on your calculator. Seriously, fuck brain surgery.
And in honor of the Boots and Hearts Festival, respect where respect is deserved. Canada, y'all got something in Tim Hicks.
It's funny, I had zero desire to see Elementary because even though I've watched many versions of Sherlock Holmes over the years, once I've seen BC and MF in the main roles that was it for me. But a couple of weeks ago I met John Noble at a convention, who I adored as Walter on Fringe and was agog over the fact that he was also the shitty king from LOTR. Anyway, John was pretty much the coolest old dude and I wanted him to be my dad that would tell me stories in an Australian accent. Yes, he is Australian, wrap your mind around that. So, apparently he played Sherlock's dad for a season on Elementary. I guess I need to watch this show, then, because I am super intrigued now. And since we are on the subject of Benedict Cumberbatch and people we want to cold cock, I nominate his wife. Let me just say, that it isn't petty jealousy. Yes I love this man, but if he honestly was with someone who is cool, I would be so cool with it. In fact, I totally ship him with Keira Knightly. They are fucking adorable. Spoiler: large amount of cuteness No, instead he is with this posh bitch: Spoiler: I don't remember what joy is. Seriously, look at this pose. Just begging you to punch her right in the throat: Spoiler: Pow! Anyway, I may be Friday night drunk.
I forgot to mention - fun fact: Benedict and Johnny Lee Miller starred in a play about Frankenstein together in London a few years ago. They would take turns playing the doctor and the monster. National Theater Live will be doing a rebroadcast in movie theaters in October. I definitely plan to see it.
I just fell out of bed. Not like one of those times when you roll over too far but catch yourself with your feet, like I fell and rolled over the bedside table onto the floor. I made it like three feet. The worst part is that I was already awake and I was trying to get out of bed. Ugh, I need coffee.
