or boobs. make it boobs. edit: and thats awful about will haden. hopefully it's not true. because the way this shit typically works is that even if its just a malicious accusation with no real basis, his life is pretty much over. being accused to rape or child molestation doesn't just go away, even if its false.
holy shit, i was just talking about clippy on the tib. of course it was related to some buzzfeed article that basically says "don't forget you're old! remember this thing that children now have no idea about?!?!"
i tried to put in a nice looking clip but it looked worse than the gaping wound. so i nuked it, and sewed up the wound. now how are we ever going to tell if black jesus has inserted some horrible, eye-rending image into a thread? guess we'll just have to be surprised.
i love quoting him. "put a new ejector in a benelli!? (very easy- one tool required- or a ball point pen) ain't nevah been done befoah."
but... what if we weld two, no three together... and it spins?? game changer. let's just forget about them already.
so with your actual experience with guns, in a scale of 1-10 how full of shit is this "reality" show?
to start with, he didn't even have a gunsmith license in the first year and a bit of the show... that's why they had that guy who eventually split from them, and why it was a big deal when he was leaving; he's the one who was authorized to sign off on all the work that was being done, and without him, they wouldn't be able to run the shop. yeah, it's full of shit.
i know you asked him, but i'm also fairly experienced with firearms. katokoch much more than me obviously. that said, i think the show itself was really shitty. i think the guys in the shop were decent gunsmiths however, the crap they did on the show was like... "hey guys! lets bolt this shotgun to this rifle and charge people thousands and thousands of dollars for it!" all they ever did was attach shit to other shit and call it innovative. they took a lot of preexisting gun parts and modified them slightly. and then throw in a little drama with his snaggle-toothed daughter while she fucked her way around the shop.
no, i'm asking anyone i just know katokoch is a smith (are you a smith?) in the past few posts, four board members have called him out with what i assume are facts. you would think when you have a show titled "son of guns" the stars of said show ought to know their ins and outs. instead, they round up the nearest family tree that doesn't fork. just counting the people on this site, both the guns and ammo and hunting threads are consistently popular. how hard is it to find a gun expert that isn't faking it like a hooker being paid by the moan? call the show what it is: sons of sisters.
it's not just the work that they're doing, it's the entire process, from inception to completion. for example, saying that a police department needs a large caliber machine gun for forced entries and turning a .50 caliber, vehicle mounted gatling gun into a shoulder-fired weapon is flawed on a dozen different levels. the firearm weighing 30-50 lbs would be a good place to start. next, the things that they're working on aren't exactly groundbreaking. their suppressor work is absolutely nothing new, but they're playing it up like they're the first shop in the world to modify a saiga semi auto shotgun. the other stuff that they're doing is usually just dumb. very impractical. on the smithing side, they're working, but again, it's not exactly precision machining. finally, their firearms handling safety is one continuous violation. unsafe directions and fingers on triggers seem to be two that you can catch in every episode. edit- in the gunsmithing world, there are guys who can make a firearm out of raw materials there are guys who can swap out parts. obviously, there are plenty of good smiths in between, but this is the gist. the sons of guns guys are more along the lines of parts swappers rather than fabricators. if they manufactured their own stuff, you'd see way more machining equipment.
i am not a smith. the owner, will, is a former marine who basically just walked around the shop and was a dick to everyone without actually doing any work himself. he would walk around, give out the stink eye if people weren't working fast enough for him. and then when it was done, he would present the finished product to the customer as if he did it himself. i think if they threw in a little sister-fucking, it would have been more entertaining.
crown i'm not a gunsmith- for the most part i just make custom stocks (the wood part) in my spare time... not quite the same thing as their field. i think nett, vanilla, and xray put it as well as i can. i haven't handled anything they actually made, so i can't speak towards the quality of what really comes out of their shop. their website lists stuff like custom aks and saigas, which have been made a billion times over anyways and don't require rocket science to bolt together too. the fact that hayden doesn't actually have an ffl on top of all of this is just icing on the cake. tl;dr, the show is a stupid fucking gimmick and overall i think they make real gunsmiths and gunmakers look bad. this alone could be quite the drinking game. a sip for every muzzle pointed at someone or a finger on a trigger, and you gotta finish your drink any time "game changer" or "never been done before" is said.
there is not a lot of reality in that show but they are very talented gun smiths and can build some cool shit, mr. raper has a pretty extensive knowledge of older machine guns. they work under a license (not mr rapers) that lets them manufacture and play with stuff the rest of us will never be able to. when they go on their little "shooting expeditions" they have exploding targets which is not what really happens when you shoot guns.
are you telling me if i shoot a handgun at rusted out car it won't explode? well fuck me. tv and its damned lies. anyone else remember when they essentially bolted together 6 shotguns to make a gattling shotgun? dumbest thing ever.
High caliber i haven't watched the show in a long time. i didn't know he had but the one daugther. speaking of reality gun shows and their daughters - american guns used to creep me out, because that girl was obviously showing her body off. but, she was only 16-17 while that show was on, i think. but, now, paige wyatt is 19 and likes to post bikini pictures of herself. Spoiler isn't this the first line of every email from the network executives that review pitches for all the reality shows? edit: what the damn hell? why is that picture so big, and how do i fix that on this fancy new board?
