    Ditto. Good luck you guys.

I didn't set my alarm last night and woke up exactly when I should have been pulling out of the driveway. Now I'll be all off for the rest of the day.

I have a friend who says he never sets an alarm clock, he just wakes up on time. I don't know how that's possible. Obviously not in my world.

I think you're right, maybe if I wore 30 pieces of flair, pretended I was a Yankee, negged them a bit then looked for some IOI's I'd been sticking my penis in some fine dimes last night.

I have family in Florida (shut up), Gulf side. I hate the attitude of "I've been through hurricanes in the past, besides this one should miss us." Yeah, but if it doesn't, you're fucked. Not worth the risk in my opinion. You don't play "chicken" with mother nature.

What is it that nett always says, play stupid games win stupid prizes?

According to my wife: heavy traffic, no gas at gas stations (though delivery trucks are constantly restocking at this point), Publix shelves are empty of water and Chef Boyardee, Lowes still has supplies and the roads are getting very congested around Orlando. She went on to say that people are policing up anything that can fly around the neighborhood, especially around peoples homes who are out of town, some are starting to board up their windows. The wife and kids put everything away, got in the car and headed to the river house up in the big bend area a few hours ago. Highways were packed and there were even long lines at the gas stations up in Gainesville now. Apparently, the power trucks are already on their way in, she passed several convoys while heading North.

Hoping it will just be a glancing blow off Canaveral and not park itself over Orlando but on top of that, they are now expecting it to do a loop de loop and hit Florida a second time. I'm more worried about rain accumulation and flooding than actual wind at this point. Eventhough I'm not in a flood zone, I don't know how well the ponds and storm sewer systems will handle 30" of rain.

I feel bad for you, not being able to get laid unless it's at a drunken frat party where the girls have no morals and poor decision making. Do you need me to send you some postcards of my mom to make it through the winter? I fear for your well-being.

T-Minus 36 hours until the Internet blows up with pictures of alligators in places they are not supposed to be.

There's large swaths of Florida I would be perfectly ok seeing washed out to sea.

On a lighter note, I'm hoping one of the tech guru's on this site can help me out.

I'm having in issue with Firefox as of late. Certain webpages, with no correlation, have been freezing the browser and computer for 3-4 seconds when trying to scroll down the page. I don't get any error messages, and it happens at random. All plugins and addons are up to date, no issues on some websites with like content, doesn't happen in Opera when trying to load the same page. Suggestions?

Maybe disable the plugins/add-ons 1-by-1 and see if that fixes anything

I was hearing that it's the storm surge, not the wind that's going to be so rough. Is that still true?

Storm surge can be very localized and tide-dependent. If the storm surge arrives at high tide it can be catastrophic.

I've heard a lot lately its not the wind that destroys things its the water. Storm surge is what does the damage, the wind can be bad but not nearly as destructive as the water being forced on shore

It's the wind and the potential flooding. These storms can drop 20-40 inches of rain in a day. No place is equipped to handle that much water. Flying debris is also dangerous.

Storm surge really only affects those near the water and within a few miles of the beach.

39 years old today. Going to enjoy a few Cracked Canoes and smoke a great big joint now. I'm still smiling over the fact the Jays are in the playoffs and the Cardinals aren't.

The good thing about having my own office is that I can fart all I want.
The bad thing is that when someone comes into my office, I have no one to blame these greasy garlic farts on.

Happy birthday Crown! What are you doing tonight to celebrate?

You know, I was not concerned about this hurricane til I came here. Maybe I should put some gas in my car. We have MREs and a few gallons of water but if it changes course we might be short on supplies.

I hope any of you who are on the east coast of Florida are okay, it looks like things are going to suck over there.

That being said, as a bar owner on the west coast of FL, I'm happy for the surge in business from everyone getting out of this storms path.
