I'm not saying this in any reference to the above posts, but I really got to hand it to the clean up team around here. I said it wasn't that bad, but that was really in reference to what could have been. This morning there was shit everywhere and large parts of the city were under water. By this evening, the power is back on, the roads are clear, the gas stations are already back open for business, and nearly all the bridges have been fixed. Other than what miscellaneous things individuals have to fix themselves it's like it never happened. Say what you want about Florida, but they sure know how to handle a storm.
That story is hilarious. I thought that Chinkinese was something offensive, but Google says it's not? Also, who the he'll is Sergio Dipp? He's terrible. Obviously English isn't his first language, but I've seen plenty of MLB commentators where that's the case, and they don't fumble as bad as him. It's like he was frightened by the lights.
I took that to mean in relation to places like Cuba or some other places that have experienced insane devastation. It's bad, but it could have been so, soooo much worse.
Ted Cruz, a true patriot, spent his day of remembrance by liking a clip of porn about a mom masturbating to her daughter having sex on Twitter. Spoiler
How dare you judge how he chooses to remember the tragedy. Christ. I know exactly what video that is from half a screen cap.
I don't know what's funnier: if his Twitter was hacked and that's the joke the hackers came up with: or, if he wasn't hacked and actually liked that video. His bio line says "fighter for liberty" and "representing Texas" so, not inconsistent with liking that video?
It's going to be a long time before power is restored in some areas around here and (wah, wah for me) internet. Even the cell tower near my house got knocked out. This picture is around the corner from my office (and why the cable is out). Spoiler: I've got the power It's like this in a lot of places. But, you'll notice how dangerous this is. There isn't a cop car, orange barrel or bucket truck to be found, because they're all tied up else where. I'm not complaining. This is rough here, small town, just dealt with high winds, so I can't even imagine how long it's going to take Florida to get operational. And, the scope of "recovered" status is just mind-boggling.
79 year-old dude was injured but is OK http://globalnews.ca/news/3736213/s...ring-crash-landing-in-plainville-connecticut/
Betcha he saw the story about the old guys in the Hellcat going airborne, and said, "Oh yeah? Watch this..."
I know fewer people watched the second MNF game last night, but why does ESPN treat it like it was a testing ground? Rex Ryan did okay, but it was his first game ever. The total fail that was Sergio Dipp, I mean, I don't know. One commenter said he thought he had autism. A dude with autism would not have crashed and burned this bad. I'm not saying I would do better, but then, I don't work as a sideline reporter for a billion dollar company. Maybe they laid off one too many sideline reporters and a Mexican soccer reporter was all they could come up with. Here's a stellar example of his work if you missed it: https://twitter.com/BarstoolHubbs/status/907436478501937153 Literally every single sideline reporter in the SEC or Big 10 could've done better than he did. I AM WATCHING HIM NOW UP CLOSE AND YOU ARE WATCHING HIM NOW ON THE SCREEN.
