Finally checked this show out; the characters are as generic as they come in a comedy series (1. suave half-competent asshole in the lead, 2. hot girl drawn to assholes, 3. who is now with a smart, responsible, yet boring, nerdy guy, 4+. and quirky side characters with one bizarre trait each), and the formula for each episode is completely standard, but they get a hell of a lot of mileage out of it. The dialogue is much funnier than usual for a television comedy, and the pacing is outstanding; there is rarely a dull moment. I'm curious what they will do in Season 2; there were times during the first season where they were re-hashing the same jokes too many times. Hopefully, they have enough fresh material for another 13 episodes. But overall, it's a good, solid comedy.
