Personally, I love knee-socks. Does your sock-phobia include knee-socks? If it does, what the fuck? If not, awesome. Have you ever been confused as to your whereabouts and gotten naked at an inappropriate time and then demanded dollar bills from innocent bystanders? Were the police involved? What happens if a guy smells really bad? Do you tell him to clean up his act, or just suck it up and power through? Would you ever burn a pile of socks on stage and do a ritualistic witch-dance over said sockpile? If so, will you marry me? Why do you practice witchcraft? At what point did you decide to reject the Christ? This post is brought to you by Four Loko.
What do you think is an appropriate tip per customer per song set for each dancer? Do You expect to be tipped after a lap dance? I tip on stage but ill never tip after a lapdance since I'm already paying her via the cost of the dance. Edit: typing on my droid i bdont want to use my log in info on these computers
I like to wear thigh-high stockings. Also, the ones that have little toes in them. Just in general I don't like to wear socks. I'm sure this is confusing, but you need to just accept it. If I've had a little too much to drink, I will occasionally try to take my clothes off. This is why I go out with friends. The bouncer in front of the club did not try to stop me, though. If a guy smells bad, I give him a quicker dance and try to get out without offending. To answer your last few questions: Not yet, only in Vegas, because this mortal world is merely a shadow of the real one, the Mental World (googled it), and I'm pretty sure Jesus is a magician.
For a 3 minute song, I would say anything between five and ten dollars. More if there is two of us or if I'm doing something special. A tip for a lap dance is nice, but I don't expect it. Some guys will give you extra money when they want to be cliche and put money in your bra or panties.
Well, thanks for taking time to answer all these questions. I'm sure it's a little bit exhausting. But that's due to the fact that (at least for me) it's such an interesting topic. Anyways: Are there hidden cameras in the private rooms? Do bouncers monitor them to make sure that customers don't get out of hand with the girls when they think they're in privacy? If so, do the cameras hooked up to DVRs in order to record or is it just a live screen? I wouldn't think to ask this, but I've heard of it happening more than once.
I'm not sure if they it's kept in a system or anything, but there are guys whose job it is to sit at the cameras and watch the private rooms.
Some of you keep bringing up the movie idea. I'd imagine that all of us watched IHTSBIH and I'm pretty sure we all thought that it was a great idea as well... You've mentioned that you want to eventually settle down, marry someone and have kids. How do you plan on explaining this career path to your children? Is it something you will hide from them or an experience you're willing to share? And a similar question: Would you be supportive if your daughter/son chooses to go into stripping? What about porn?
Hey CC, I was at a fine Gentleman's Establishment last night with some friends, what do you think of the guys who fold the money up and make some kind of building on stage when the girl is dancing? As a caveat, this one completely unattractive, loose skinned, floppy boob girl got a good $300 dumped on her for the 4 songs she danced/flopped around to...does stuff like this piss the good looking girls off?
I really don't see a time when stripping would come up. What reason would I have to tell my imaginary children about my time as a stripper? I would be fine with my kid being a stripper, but I would probably be less cool with them being in porn. I have nothing against it, I just don't understand it as a career you would actually choose.
Um.. if he builds something cool that I get to keep, I think it's cool I personally don't who makes more money. I dont know about other girls, but ugly or pretty you are still doing your job.
I guess I need to makes something else clear. I have nothing against prostitutes and porn stars. I actually kind of respect them for being able to do what they do. I totally couldn't perform the way they do.
I've been pretty quiet until now, but I feel a little clarification is needed. Keep in mind, I'm not trying to attack you outright, I'm just... Lost. How did this: and this: become this: in just a couple days? I went from a dirty, line crossing prostitute to a semi-respected prostitute quite suddenly. Yeehaw. I'd like to know what you think of the adult industry you don't seem to include yourself in. Not what you think the board wants to hear, or what you should say to make it all look pretty, but what you honestly think. As both a former escort and a current stripper, the denigration is bringing me down. Besides which, I think you'd be surprised (or maybe not) at just how many strippers step down off their pedestals and work as escorts on the side. This also concerns me: I don't know how things are run in your club, but this is a job. Not a sorority. Like I said in my rep, adult industry workers get enough bad press from the general public, we don't need to be ripping on each other in house. Just my two cents and then some.
Oh, look. A hooker joke! How original, relevant to the topic at hand, and enlightening! I'm glad you contributed to this thread. Really. Seriously, though--I thought this thread was dead, but Pussy (may I call you that?) brings up a good point. Candy Cane's views on other sex workers are troubling, to say the least. From a feminist perspective--no, scratch that, from the perspective of a socially progressive and empathetic person--I don't see how it's possible to denigrate others in a field closely related to your chosen profession. Strippers, escorts, porn stars, webcam girls, and phone sex operators are ALL sex workers. Period. There is no hierarchy of moral superiority. You might not take money for sex, but you take off your clothes for money. Phone sex operators don't even have to do that. And webcam girls don't even have to TOUCH their customers, but you do.......so does that allow them to look down upon your chosen profession? No, it doesn't. See how silly that line of reasoning is? Sex work is sex work. I think we can all agree that no matter who you're shaking it for, how much they're paying you, whether you're on film or strictly audiotape only...it's work. And it's bad form to career-snark on any girl working hard for her money.
I just have one question. Obviously you cannot be a stripper forever and eventually need to find other work. What do you put down on your resume or work application to explain what you did for X number of years?
I don't think she was saying she looks down on hookers or porn stars (though her first post on the matter sounded like it). Her last post on the matter indicates that she respects them, but she PERSONALLY couldn't have actual sex for money. Blatantly saying porn and hooking is beneath what she does is one thing, but she's just saying that she personally would feel dirty if she engaged in sex for money. It may just be bullshit rationalizing on her part, but she drew a line she won't cross and as long as she doesn't look down on others who's line is a little further than hers I don't see anything wrong with it.
This is what I'm confused about, what is the difference between letting someone touch you while they beat off, or dry humping (lap dancing) them until they get off any different than hooking? Is the difference that you do it in a club, and not in some apartment? This really confuses me. CandyCane- You say that you don't plan on telling your kids you were a stripper. You plan on stripping until you are 30. I've got to assume that is a good ten year gap in your life... So what do you plan on telling your kids you did for those ten years? "Mommy was in school, but doesn't have a degree. And her only real skill is making shitty jewlery for her friends. I learned that in those ten years."
