Why did he agree to the debate with Megyn Kelly as the host? Didn't he bail on the last Fox debate because she was hosting? Is he showing the kinder, gentler, less sexist version of himself?

It's too bad Kasich doesn't get any traction, he seems like a rather reasonable guy. I don't know his politics and he could be a madman for all I know but still would look reasonable standing with the other three tonight.

The irony here is that every debate should do this to every candidate. The debates are barely concealed multi-participant stump speeches.

And Ted Cruz ate a booker after it stuck to his lips for 20 seconds.

Fox did precisely the same thing to Rubio and Cruz at the last debate (that Trump skipped). I complain quite a bit about the media (and I still think they're not doing the indepth job we need, but I'll get to that in another post), but they have tried to nail down the candidates on both sides - more so than in any election I can remember. While they didn't do it to Kasich, the fact is, he has said precisely the same thing forever. If his ideas weren't so tired and proven useless, I'd get behind the guy. Demeanor wise, he's the best of all candidates that are left, both Democrat and Republican. Unfortunately, his slavish adherence to the 'trickle down economics' model doesn't work - and yes, 'he created 400k new jobs in Ohio' but those jobs were due to natural gas industry, not because of trickle down. This is my major problem with the Republican party of today - and neo conservatives in general - despite overwhelming evidence that they platform doesn't work the way they say it will work, they continue to push it. In order to do so, you essentially have to have faith, and hence, neo conservatism looks more like a religion than a political ideology.

Did Trump really get up there and say 'get rid of the EPA' in a state where a Republican governor, in order to save money, essentially allowed contaminated water to be the drinking supply? I don't think he did it intentionally, but that's my problem with neoconservatism: despite evidence, just keep doing the same thing and yelling louder.

Hence, true conservatives like myself are completely turned off. I'm no hippy tree hugger, but goddamnit, I'd like to live in a society that has potable water. I'd have thought this basic need was widely known, and has been since, oh, I don't know, Roman times, but apparently neoconservatives feel the need to revisit the issue, you know, just to stay faithful to 'free market' principles, even when they're inapplicable and kill people. Fucking crazy.

Didn't that happen when Abraham Lincoln got the nomination? Seward was supposed to be number one. Besides, it's not like Trump is getting the majority of votes. If he was getting 52% and the others were splitting the rest, that would be one thing. But, he's getting like 35% here and there. The other candidates need to stop trying to take Trump's voters, discrediting him or whatever. If Rubio or Cruz picks up each other's votes, and Bush's and Kasich's and Carson's, they'll have more than Trump.

I also think it's interesting that during Obama's first run, the Democrat leaders told Hillary to just step aside. She was briefly pissed, and then did. Whereas, they haven't told Bernie to step aside. And, in the GOP, I don't know what they're doing. They certainly don't seem to have a unified strategy for winning in either party, but especially the GOP.

    This.

I wonder if the GOP even realizes that they have made their leading candidate the underdog? With the party heads and Cruz/Rubio piling on him, they have probably actually elevated his popularity as the downtrodden, outcast, outsider. Brilliant. Because Americans HATE the underdog.

I can't even fathom why they're pushing Rubio so hard, that guy is not presidential...he reminds of a guy who got picked on in school and is trying for once in his life to show some backbone and failing miserably. And then Cruz and his hand gestures...dear God, it's like watching Dana Carvey do his Bush Sr. impersonation.

I bet he was actually called "Little Marco" on the playground before he got hung by his underwear from the monkey bars.

Between the shear amount of attacks on Trump last night and Mitt Romney's speech yesterday morning, they appear to be in full-on panic mode. They are shitting their pants because their precious system is being overtaken. Think about it like this...Who else is America could stand up to the establishment? Who is well-known enough to even be listened to? Trump is the perfect person to ruin it all because he doesn't need their support to do it. And he loves attention.

People hate Congress. People generally hate politicians. He is neither of those and he also talks about issues that directly affect them.

Black family terrorized by cop holding children at gunpoint goes viral, protests at St. Louis Police Headquarters. Except it never happened.

Video refutes claims that St. Louis police held children at gunpoint

If Clinton gets indicted, which is looking more and more likely by the day, both parties might go through a dramatic re-shaping this election cycle.

Remember 15 years ago when Al Gore sighed and everyone thought it was an outrage?

The presidential election is not a fucking pillow fight, it is a job interview. Is the GOP is pro-gun as a reason to shoot themselves in the foot so often? This election has become a domestic disturbance call.

Something tells me the Clintons will find a way out of this. They don't call her Teflon for no reason. Even if one of her staffers has been offered immunity.

If she's indicted, does that automatically stop her from running?

I never realized he was the mold for the Democratic Primary. He's in prison, and a socialist. He's like a 2 for one. Other than the fact he's been dead for a long time.

Nice name drop, though. I hadn't thought about him at all this election cycle.

I dont think there is any legal requirement for her to stop running, but I doubt the Democratic Party will want to put someone in the White House if she kicks off her presidency answering a grand jury indictment on felony charges. That would also immediately trigger a brokered convention though.

I know he can't be elected to a 3rd term, but can't he actually serve as vice president? Sorry, my government classes in HS were almost 40 years ago so it's all a bit fuzzy now.

No because the vp is next in line for the office of president if the pres gets offed somehow. I don't think he can serve any of the positions that succeed(sp) the president if he/she were to be unable to hold office any longer.

That's just the first 10. Everyone before has to die or be incapacitated for the next person in line to get it.

The 22nd amendment only protects a two term president from being re-elected. The 12th amendment makes sure the BP is eligible to be the president. It would be an interesting case for the supreme court.
