In the end this is a single legal firm that specializes in UK/British tax havens, primarily... no reason to expect them to have any significant number of US clients. That being said, you better believe that all such US-centric firms are triple-checking their internal systems to ensure the same thing doesn't happen to them.
This is a seriously disturbing trend: "MPD (Memphis Police) said 32 of the 61 homicide victims (This year) did not know their attackers. That means more than half of the victims were part of random attacks." (Info in brackets mine) http://www.wmcactionnews5.com/story...-of-2016-homicide-victims-didnt-know-attacker Traditionally murder victims usually know their killer. So along with murder numbers skyrocketing (Memphis had 35 at this time last year), murder is becoming much more random and much more senseless. Any theories on exactly what is causing murder numbers to spike this year in numerous cities? And why it is becoming increasingly at random?
I love it when groups start to cannibalize themselves. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...son-s-absurd-skin-lightening-controversy.html
You mean like this? LGBT Student Activist Group Says Gay Men Not Oppressed Enough to Deserve Representation "The National Union of Students' LGBT Campaign—a coalition of British student-activists—passed a motion to end committee representation for gay men, because they aren't as oppressed as other LGBT individuals: like students of color and transgender students."
It's gotten to the point where a part of me really does want Trump to win just because I know he'll berate and mock them for the idiots that they are. Plus, the whole slice of the population that would implode in an apocalyptic freak out would be fucking hilarious. I know those stories are British, but we have them too. Seriously, it's as if these people only exist to bitch, complain, and try to get people who do real work fired. Can you imagine the Mizzou protesters stamping around while the whole time the president gives speeches about how fucking annoying and stupid they are? It would be glorious. I'm not saying it's a great reason to vote for Trump, but it's not the worst reason either. Edit: And bravo to Duke for not just immediately caving like a bunch of cowards. That shit was really getting pathetic. I'm looking at you again, Mizzou.
I think a lot of the schools are looking at what happened to Mizzou and not caving to the PC movement because it's bad for business. They basically caved to a loud 7% minority demographic of their students over a bunch of bullshit that may or may not have even happened and lost 1/4 of their students. That's not good business. http://www.columbiatribune.com/news...cle_b1641e8c-d285-5118-9d0d-347ca50a413b.html
Thats kind of why Trump has gotten so much support in the first place. The media would have you believe that Trump is a creation of the far Right, hes not. Hes an indirection creation of and a reaction to the regressive Left and all the histrionics that come with it. He doesnt need ideas, he just need to say, "Fuck off losers," with unapologetic bravado. Think of all the things this guy has done and said in the last 12 months. A week ago he said that women should be punished for having abortions. That kind of rhetoric would destroy any other political campaign. Politicians dont lose when they say or do stupid shit, they lose when they cave-in after it. I was re-watching the video last week of a fight at a Trump rally. A Sanders supporter went their to protest and call Trump a racist by dressing up as a KKK member. He got beat up by a black Trump supporter because of the racism. What a weird time to be alive.
The media took that out of context. He was asked "If abortion was illegal, should mothers be punished for having an abortion?" The key is it was a hypothetical question with no clear cut answer. It was a no win situation. If he'd answered "No", he would've been advocating letting something that is against the law go unpunished. How do you answer a question that either way, you lose?
In my opinion, just don't answer it and tell the interviewer it's a bullshit question, but I'm sure people wouldn't like that either.
Icelandic prime minister steps down over panama papers. Oh, and I love that FIFA of all organizations, the most corrupt jackasses on the planet had the audacity to call the report 'ridiculous'. Yeah, great play FIFA, because we all have so much confidence in the integrity of your brand.
The bigger story is that something like 10% of eligible voters marched on the Icelandic capital yesterday. If we had that kind of engagement here, there would never have been this problem to start with.
Eh. Have you been to Iceland? 1/3 of the population live in the capital. And a 1/10th is only about 30,000 people and there isnt much else to do there. I cant imagine it takes much to muster a protest.
But listen to what you just said...what, in North America, could trigger 20 or 30,000 people to march on the capital with one day's notice? I can't think of anything that would do it.
Iceland had a rebellion as recently as 2009 that led to the entire old government getting sacked. So, I'm not totally sure a more involved public is a cure all.
Have you been to Iceland? I have, and can tell you that after the shit show unleashed on that nation by the 2008 financial crisis the population is incredibly tuned into what's happening with their democracy. Keep in mind that voter turnout for parliamentary elections regularly exceeded 80% even before then. Not sure that downplaying that based on stereotypes is very helpful.
Been there 4 times. What stereotypes are you talking about? The fact that the population is around 330K people? Or that theres nothing happening outside the capital?
CBC, I have some friends from Iceland and while they might not quite say there's 'nothing' there, they've pretty much said the same thing Juice just said. It's also not a stereotype that not very many people live there, it's a fact.
Well, Winnipeg is pretty isolated. No joke, there is a phone book for Winnipeg, and a phone book for the entire rest of the province. I'd guess that the city itself has around 500k people. I'm pretty sure that the mayor could shoot a child in the head on the steps of city hall, and 30,000 people would not march on the Parliament building the next day. The fact that, in Iceland, they did is atypical. IMO.
Oh boy, Mississippi protecting their religious freedom. A few things for this idiot: 1. Nobody wants to go to Mississippi anyway. You probably aren't losing all that much. 2. Your state is a fucking dump. Kentucky and Tennessee laugh at how dumb you are. Seriously, you're dead last in almost everything. Except loving the Jesus the mostest. You're big winners there. 3. How is letting gay people rent a property discrimination? You're so fucking ridiculous. 4. Die. I just can't get over how ludicrous this war on Christianity shit is. They're the SJWs of the right. I have no idea how oppressing other people is supposed to be religious freedom either, but trying to find logic in this shit obviously isn't a winning proposition. I don't know that this really affects all that much because gay people probably don't want to work for discriminating companies or buy from retarded business owners. I have to say though, I just love how the states that are at the bottom of everything are constantly bragging about how they 'do things right.' Gold stars all around.
