Do these anti-Trump protestors chanting "Fuck Donald Trump", throwing rocks at police, lighting fires, vandalizing private and public property, and waving Mexican flags think they're actually making any other point then "A vote for Trump is a vote against this bullshit?" It's like they're actually campaigning for Trump.
I just read that they were actually throwing rocks at the police horses. Is there a better reason to fire live rounds into a crowd? I can't think of one.
Our differences are making us stronger. Forward. In separate but related news: The have-nots are pissed and not going to take it much longer, not even Mickey is immune - http://www.politico.com/blogs/2016-...ernie-sanders-disneyland-223527#ixzz49bVZVI1i
http://taskandpurpose.com/sebastian-junger-we-need-to-stop-over-valorizing-veterans/ I'm interested to read what you guys think of this interview. I never really thought much about PTSD and how it could be "over diagnosed" but that is mainly because the military culture is foreign to me. The closest relation I have to the military is that a friend of mine from high school came back from serving in Afghanistan and killed himself. They claimed it was PTSD. It does make sense that there is a huge societal adjustment to be made once one returns from service, but how do we manage that adjustment? Could it be compared to when a recovering addict makes the transition back to "normal" society from leaving treatment or a halfway house?
I think Junger is spot-on. PTSD is a temporary disorder and it's absolutely over diagnosed. I experienced PTSD after I got home from Baghdad, but it was gone within a few weeks. After that I still had a lot of trouble transitioning into civilian life. Working in a combat zone was a huge rush and I made some very close friends there. At home I wasn't able to get that adrenaline rush and see my friends every day. Once your mind gets into that groove it's hard to get out of. I was holding onto the "warrior identity" that Junger talks about. I became very depressed, and when I went to the VA for help, they just handed me some Welbutrin and sent me on my way. I finally went and saw a civilian shrink, and she made me realize that I needed to accept the fact that I was no longer a soldier and focus on my life as a civilian. This problem needs to be diagnosed as a transitional disorder, and troops coming home need to shown that even though they are no longer in the military, they are needed just as much in the civilian world. He also talks about a civilian-everything divide in the interview. This kind of hits close to home, being that I'm a farmer. I'm not saying that my job is exceptionally dangerous or anything like that, it's just that the general public has a lot of really fucked up ideas about where their food comes from and how it's grown. This is one of the few industries where people think they know just as much as farmers and agronomists, just because they watched a documentary or read a few articles. Because of this I try not to talk about my job with people who haven't been around agriculture. It never usually ends well, and I get accused of all sorts of shit, along with being told that I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about.
I wasn't saying it should be considered PTSD. What I had right away was definitely PTSD, but what I was dealing with afterwards was something completely different. I've seen a lot of non-combat veterans have trouble transitioning, and they're told it's PTSD. Like you said, it does more harm than good to classify it as such.
These protests happening at American elections (most notably Trump's) is the most counter productive retardation I may have ever seen. You're not shaming them into voting for Clinton or Sanders, you're just driving them into Trump's arms even faster. Screaming in small kid's faces that their parents hate them? Whyvwould anybody vote for ANYONE now?
Last night, when they were attacking police horses in Albuquerque, they ended up breaking one of the horses legs. I don't really see how these tantrums are helping them. In addition, Milo Yiannopoulos attempted to speak at a planned event at DePaul University last night. It was inadvertently taken over by protesters for BLM and he was assaulted on stage. The security guards who the college republicans were forced to pay additional for at the last minute, were told to stand down and did absolutely nothing. The whole thing is on tape. Throwing childish bitch fits is only making me consider voting for Trump more. I wasn't before. But I'm starting to reconsider. I don't care how bad someone's content is, they have a right to say it. In a time when you only get the freedom to speak so long as it fits in with the whiny, liberal narrative, I will not support them. Getting accosted and shouted at publicly for simply having a different point of view is retarded. Learn how to form a coherent argument and allow someone with a different point of view to speak to you. Rant over.
It's fucking humiliating to be a liberal these days because of these regressive clods. When they're not pulling science out of their ass ("Gender is a social construct!!!") or violently attacking people for threatening their peace, the fucking hypocrisy and the fucking salt.... Jesus what a cancer they've become. Anybody who disagrees is a racist, a Nazi, or worst of all...an MRA. There is nothing they won't stoop to, no low they won't sink to get their way. Here's a nobody-hack progressive horror "author" openly bragging about how her and her team are going to flat-out steal the works of HP Lovecraft, the father of horror (and its greatest writer), and change them to be more PC, then take credit for them. Behold: Spoiler That's right, we have let this go for so long these people think they can now EDIT ART to suit their pussy social views. This is what created Trump: The Candidate, this regressive, privileged class of whiny attention whores sucking on society's tit. Wean the little bastards.
So... how about that email server? I'm kind of surprised that nobody has commented on the report that was released. This Reddit comment does a pretty good job of pointing out some of the key issues: https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/4l052h/megathread_state_department_email_audit_re/d3j69gt I also find it interesting that a large number of senior Democrats are starting to throw the DNC Chair under the bus... I don't think she's going to be Chair for much longer. Shit's getting interesting.
They are saying that they (university staff) told the Chicago police not to intervene. The university president "apologized" by comparing the BLM protestors to --get this-- Allied D-Day beach raiders. Then went on to say that Milo has a right to speak but doesn't deserve to, and that the university will bring about justice for the scandalous and "violent" chalk graffiti that suddenly appeared. Yes, more chalk. The horror. How is it even possible that places like Regent, Liberty and Phoenix are starting to look like the "smart" universities in America?
Wow. That shit is bad. Just read the Reddit thing. I would be interested to see how further developments are timed to have the greatest affect on the election. And Wasserman-Schultz is human garbage. Fuck her.
Suppose for a minute she doesn't get elected, which I find doubtful at this point. What will Donald Trump actually accomplish as President? Obama has fought an unwilling House for 8 years essentially going nowhere, Trump will face the same battle; he also doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who will be patient either and probably have a fit and eventually give up. So, in the end, whether it's this battle ax or Trump who gets elected, it will still be more of the same status quo bought and paid for by the Media/Military/Banking/Insurance industrial complex.
That's just the State Department's report. The FBI basically said "don't do shit until we're done", so it seems to me that this kind of indicates the FBI is done their investigation. So, the hacker cuts a deal, the State Department releases their condemning report... I can only imagine what the FBI report will say. Hell, it might not even be a report, but an arrest. This is going to be interesting.
I still don't believe she's the Democratic shoe-in that everyone on here thinks she is. With all this shit coming down on her, and the increased polling that shows Bernie beating Trump, not her, the convention is going to be entertaining as hell.
Almost nothing related to politics, government officials' actions, or the media coverage of it surprises me anymore. But, I would be flabbergasted if that happens. It would take a respected Democrat in Congress to champion this cause, or CNN / MSNBC to dig in on this for that to happen. Otherwise, the general narrative from Bill, the DNC machine and so on, will be that this is simply a witch hunt from Fox News / Sean Hannity, etc. rather than any kind of quest for justice.
I'm sure that if the semester hadn't ended we would probably be seeing more expulsions for "The Chalkening".. I'm only 35 but I really don't get college students or American politics anymore. Anytime I think there's no way the Dems would start a riot I see it happen. As an American, White, Southern Male who is pretty much die hard GOP all I have to say is WTF? I don't even know if I will even vote this year except in Congressional elections..
Since Gary Johnson appears to be gaining more media coverage (and has a better chance than Cruz), I felt like I should tack this on here: https://garyjohnson2016.com/issues/ For people throwing their hands up and saying "I can't believe these two idiots are my only choices," he could be very appealing. And, with he and Weld both having been Governors, with the opportunity to actually implement what they say they would, that advantage goes to Johnson.
I think you're forgetting 2009-2011 when both houses were controlled by Democrats and they passed the Affordable Care Act. I think everyone is underestimating Trump. He definitely puts up a bullying, unwielding persona. If he gets elected though, will he suffer through obstructionism from Congress or will he adapt and do what needs to be done? He's not the type to accept continual defeat for four years; my guess is that he would figure out how to get what he wants.
