That's one of the things that amazes me personally about Milo at his appearances. Man, I do NOT have that gift. I am easily riled up. If somebody got all up in my face, screaming stuff at me? I would definitely take the bait, even knowing I shouldn't.
And in follow up: http://abc7chicago.com/news/noose-found-at-depaul-universitys-lincoln-park-campus/1358733/ https://twitter.com/TheeCurrentYear/status/736045784437821440
Obviously I've been wrong before but the loop end of that knot looks like it had been held in tension for awhile, like it was strapping something down or holding a bundle together thanks to the loose end being pulled through like a lasso- if it was recently tied, the loop would be loose and relaxed like the rest of the rope. No way it could have just fallen off a landscaping cart, right?
...and the debate is off. http://www.cnn.com/2016/05/27/politics/trump-says-he-will-not-debate-sanders/index.html It was fun while it lasted.
I don't think that he thought Bernie would take the bait. Bernie did and now he needed to find another reason to back out. It's childish reasoning.
Trump is a chickenshit. Let's face it, Mr. Balls-Out Unstumpable is backing out for one reason: He knows he'll get hosed against Sanders and that's the only reason he's tucking tail. Bitch move. In other news get this: Because Mizzou decided to give a platform to those lying teenaged retards, they face an enrollment shortage of over 1500 students and a budget shortfall of over $30 million. And God smiled. Hopefully we'll let this be a lesson to the special snowflake campus staff and clueless children who wouldn't know hardship if it fucked them with shards of glass.
I don't think the debate is dead just yet... ABC, NBC, and Fox are all negotiating like hell to get it to happen.
Sanders needs to get his people to donate and raise the 10 million to back Trump into a corner. As terrible as the debates with these morons are, there need to be more of them.
Trump was just offered $20 million by I believe the owners of Caesar's. Twenty. Oh, and right on cue. The ride never ends: http://wgntv.com/2016/05/27/reports-of-noose-found-on-depaul-campus-in-lincoln-park/
No. Fuck that. As much as I want to see this debate happen, the idea of monetizing elections even more is so completely odious to me. Shit, one of the key tenets of Sanders' platform is to get the money out of politics. For his camp to even entertain that aspect is curious. Of course Trump mentions donating the proceeds to a woman's charity; he's trying to draw attention away from how disgusting the idea of being paid to participate in democracy in action while also trying to gain cheap points with a demographic he is flailing with. Why should hardworking Americans (well, most of 'em) pony up more cash so a fucking billionaire can finally answer some hardball questions he should have been hammered with since day one, while appearing righteous over the media? This whole idea is a fucking farce.
It's misdirection also. The donation is only an afterthought. Classic Trump. Someone else foots the bill while he gets a chance to mug on TV and people play right into what he demands again. This is not how you engage a man like that; instead turn it around on him. Ask why isn't he donating to women's programs, why isn't he asking a woman's group to host the event? This guy is controlling the public discourse. It it happens, whatever, fine. I'd like to see a debater like Bernie savage him. It is just absurd to monetize something integral to our process. I can't be the only person to find that dangerous. especially when everyone is complaining about exactly that problem. "Oh, but it's for charity!" Again, it really isn't. It is a shrewd political move. Imagine if Obama had attempted to set up a debate with McCain when Hillary was the presumptive frontrunner. It would have been professional suicide.
Quite honestly, most everything Trump has done has been a shrewd political move. It's like watching a train wreck, except the wreck never happens. It's the damnedest thing I've ever witnessed. I've never liked the guy, but dear God, is he good at the game. I have no disillusion that this anything but a game to him, but the guy knows how to push the right buttons....even when everyone thinks he just fucked himself, he still comes out ahead. As far as Bernie wiping the floor with Trump in a debate...Remember, Trump is an entertainer, he's done this for years. His policies may not be solid, but he's far from stupid. He's been doing business for 30+years with smoke and mirrors and been very successful at it. As soon as Bernie started in with his "Free shit for everyone and the 1% are going to pay for it" communist spiel, Trump would bury him.
I see it a bit differently. I think everything that Trump does is spur of the moment, only to be cleaned up later by his staff as part of damage control. "Sure I'll debate Sanders... for $10 million... because I know how the TV stations work, and I want my cut." (pssst! Trump! Looks a bit greedy to ask for the $10 million!) "Oh, then let's make that $10 million for a charity that benefits women." (Bernie's going to wipe the floor with you, you shouldn't debate him!!) "Uhh, no I won't debate Sanders, because it's all rigged and it makes no sense to debate someone I'll never actually be running against".
That may be true. All I know is every time he says something off the cuff that by all accounts should bury him, he actually comes out ahead. Every. Single. Time. It's like he's the Anti-Christ or something.
Totally agree... I just think he thinks on his feet better and faster than others he's been up against so far, but that's not the same as being as educated or informed as others. He also takes them out of their element... his comments are so far off side that most people don't know how to reply to them. I think Bernie would be able to handle that, because he doesn't engage when people try that with him... he just keeps on his point. It's deflated the others he's debated against so far, and I think part of Trump would respect that choice to not engage or "fight dirty". Again, it'd be a hell of an interesting debate to watch, because I could realistically imagine it going so many different ways... I want to see how it would play out.
As far as who to vote for, here's my take on it: Hillary: Scandal after scandal follows her. Where there is smoke, there is fire. The e-mail scandal is just the latest. She put classified information on an easily accessed server and acts like it's no big deal. If she's that flippant with our country's secrets, there is a huge problem. Then there is the fact that she has changed her position on issues after large contributions to her war fund. No thanks. Bernie: He wants to expand the "Great Society" started by LBJ. In the 50+ years since it's inception the program has cost taxpayers $22 Trillion dollars. What have we gained? Poverty levels have remained the same. Crime has gone up, no father families have gone through the roof, and the poor have complained more that they're oppressed and that people that work are the problem. Throwing more money at the problem is not going to fix it. Trump: The guy is a narcissist and I've never cared for him. However...he does have a point with some his ideas. Illegal aliens? There are somewhere between 10-28 million of them in the country. That's a fucking HUGE problem. They are not "Undocumented Workers", they are here illegally. They broke the law and we're using our tax dollars and resources that could be directed towards other things to deal with them. That's our choices: A career politician who panders to anyone who will listen and doesn't give a shit about national security. An old communist who wants to give even more of my money to a failed social program. A loud mouth egomaniac with no political experience. Personally, I think the third choice is the lesser of the evils. He is unqualified, but he has an ego as big as the sky. Do you think he wants to be remembered as the worst president ever? His ego would never allow that.
The irony of these horrible choices is that there's a ticket in the race composed of two successful two-term Republican governors of Democrat states. And no one will vote for them because it's "throwing away your vote."
